Since you enjoyed the Tiki Hut yesterday here is the other side of it and the putting green behind it.  This is where I walk on my way to the gym.

Today is my day with old Chuckie Duck for lunch and grocery shopping.  We love our time together, no matter what the week brings these few hours are relaxing for him.  He is moving on the 14th into an apartment near the Fern House.  Their Board of Directors felt he wasn't having any time off since he lived there and someone wanted something all the time.  I agree.  He will be a mile and a half away and a mile and a half from me too.  I haven't seen it yet but I did see photos he sent me and it's small and very cute.  I think this is great.  They are giving him enough money in the form of a raise to pay for it too.  I know they are very happy with him.

It looks like I won't be cruising before my surgery after all.  I just can't get it together yet, there are appointments and stuff to do, tests to take, etc.  Anyway I am going again in May with the duck, back on my favorite ship, the Carnival Ecstasy.

It's been lovely and sunny but not hot enough to get in the pool.  The bike, however, is perfect in this weather.

The bloggers cruise ends today.  They announced the next one, it's out of Galveston and I won't be going on it, I am not going to go to Texas to cruise when I have four ports near me.  I don't really care though, it's really gotten too big, it started with about 60 and now there are well over 600.  I don't know how you can do much with a group that big.

This is the Tiki Hut behind the Club, I took this while I was on my way to see Andre' to be beaten up brutally yesterday.  He started with 100 squats.  Yes you read that right, ONE HUNDRED SQUATS!!!  Followed by the rest of the workout which was almost that bad and you know what?  I did every bit of it.  Yes I did. 

Today is beauty day, I get my hair done and maybe hit the outlet mall for a bit, not sure yet.  Or maybe a bike ride or maybe both.  In fact I could even ride my bike TO the outlet mall, it's really not far at all.  Let's see what the weather is like and how I feel after that workout I had.

This is where I am in my mind today.  In reality I am in the gym with Andre' beating me up but it's all good.

D#1 and her wonderful hubby left and it was lovely having them surprise me.  Plus I did get two hugs from TCD to boot.  Lucky me.  I got the sheets all washed and everything back in it's place and it's like no one was even here.  I wish they still were though.

I don't know if I ever told you this or not but D#1 got everyone a Fitbit for Christmas, the whole family, so we can watch each other's goals and progress.   Well what I wanted to tell you about it is that it is making me do more exercise.  For example last night when I was done with everything and ready to post this blog and relax in front of the tv for a bit I looked and I was short of my daily goal in walking and I got up and walked around the hallway until I was finished.  In other words it IS making me do more and making me more aware of my movements.  I really like it a lot.

We just had our trees trimmed, they look pretty now I think and the coconuts are all gone again too.  Some rocket scientist planted coconut trees over parking spaces.

I was pretty clever yesterday at jury duty.  The case I was called on was about an insurance company and a chiropractor and when they were questioning me I casually said that yes, I could be impartial but I should disclose that my son-in-law is a chiropractor.  I watched the defense cross me off this list.  Miss innocent.  But it is true.  I didn't get dismissed until after 3:00 and it was so cold in there you could hang meat.

So last night I had a fantastic surprise!  D#1 and her wonderful husband came and spent the night so she can see the dentist today and head back home, we got to have dinner with the duck too!  I was thrilled to see them even for such a short time.

And that is a wrap up of my day.  Today I have a board meeting.  Not much else but I will get to see TCD when she goes for her appointment.  Hope your day is totally tits.  Mine will be, I'll be getting a hug!

Well poker didn't go too well last night so we'll not talk about that.  Today I have to get up at 6:00 in the morning.  Yes I have to report for Jury Duty.  I was hopeful that when I called the number last night that they would say not to report but instead they said to report early.

Elton John is coming in March but I don't think I'll go.  It's in Miami again and on a day Chuck can't go and I sure don't want to drive in that mess.  Getting out of that garage was a nightmare, he did really good driving through it though.  I would have been very nervous.

I finally got back down to my pre-cruise weight.  That took a while this time.  I still have a way to go though to get to my final goal.  But you know what?  If I never make it it's okay because I am healthy and I feel great.  I'd just like to make it, that's all.

Yesterday was in the 80's and sunny but very windy.  I went down to the pool in my suit ready to swim but it really was so windy I ended up not going in but had a nice chat with the mayor and the governor of the pool and we listened to some music for a bit.

Today is Andre' for me and poker tonight.  Maybe a nap in between!  We'll see.  It's getting chilly again.  I sure wish it wouldn't.  I talked to Paul yesterday and he was home from his cruise and had a foot of snow.  A foot of snow!  Ack.

Well it's groundhog day.  Will he see his shadow?  Will you have six more weeks of winter?  And it's Monday to boot.  Well in my world Mondays are the same as any other day so I don't really care.  But on Wednesday I have that blasted Jury Duty.  I have to call the night before to see if I have to show up or not.  Rats.  I hate it.  I have done it so many times, it's not really fair to call the same people over and over but they do.  I think they take the path of least resistance.

Yesterday I understand there was some sports thingy on television but of course I didn't watch it.  I went to sports last year if you recall and I just found out I have to go again in April with the duck.  In Miami.  I think its baseball or some other ball thing but I liked to watch the cheerleaders, they were pretty awesome and I like to eat hot dogs.

I think I'll have to get my hair done later in the week this week too.  It's been a while, I need to go about every four weeks.  I did my own mani/pedi yesterday so I won't need that this time.

Gosh I had a great time last night.  Chuck and I went to a Billy Joel concert in Miami and it was really good.  I completely enjoyed myself.  I got home pretty late though so I think I'll sleep in this morning.

A sendoff for the Bloggers Cruise which leaves today, this is Dick and Sandy Bell and Debbie and Paul Spillman and me and Patrick Duffy.  We had to rush a bit because Patrick had to be at Kravitz for an 8:00 show and I pulled in at 7:58 and he had to change into his costume.  Oops.  I got every light red even though I drove as fast as I could.

So we got through January and tomorrow starts my least favorite month.  It's not too bad here but when I lived where it was cold I would get so depressed every February.  It's warm again here and I love that for sure.

I plan on riding my bike today since I got all my chores done already and it's going to be beautiful out.  The pool has to warm up again before I get in it though.  The heater couldn't keep up with all the cold air it had to deal with I guess.

This is Patrick on the Carnival Legend.  Oh, and I might be in a few of the shots.  You'd have to look close but I was there.  He's lots of fun!

So I picked him up yesterday and we went to John G's for fish and chips (not on my diet but I ate it anyway) and stopped off to see the ocean and then to the Outlet Mall to walk around and have an ice cream (not on my diet either but I ate that too) and then I took him back to his hotel to get ready for tonight's performance.  This 26 year old guy is going to make it big, watch and see.  So much talent and personality.  He's going back to Carnival next for another piano bar stint.
