It's been a bit chilly here, high in the low 70's so I don't need the a/c now that I have it! Oh well, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

I won seven bucks and change at canasta yesterday.  For some reason my nerves were bad and I didn't enjoy it as much as I usually do but I'm fine now.  Just antsy.  I guess we all get that way once in a while.

So today is the first day on daylight savings time.  I love it being lighter at night and especially since I'm going on that cruise Saturday.  That means it'll be daylight at dinner so I plan on snagging a table by the window so we can look at the ocean while we eat dinner.  It's pretty easy to get the table you want if you know the maitre' d.  Well that and a nice tip usually works.  Six days and counting.

Today is D#1's birthday.  I won't get to see her but I'll talk to her for sure.

I guess that's all I know today y'all.  Have a great Sunday.  You know where I'll be!

I promised Roche' I'd feature him today.  He's been so good he deserves it.  Andre' wants him to start working out so on Tuesday he's going to the gym.  He will be willing to go, he's seen photos of Andre'.

So let's talk about yesterday.  I woke up at 7:00 as usual but went back to sleep until 8:30, that was a nice start!  Then I made my coffee and got my computer out and played a bit.  Time to get ready for the gym and then the walk over.  Andre' worked me hard as always, harder each time.  I wimped out on the squats, only did 30, not the 50 he wanted but I did do everything else.

Then I came home and ate some cottage cheese and peaches and off to the pool.  I did some exercise there (not an hour but still it was a good workout) and off to my nice warm shower and my WEN.

I couldn't decide what to do for dinner so I went into the kitchen and rooted around a bit.  Here's what I came up with:  meatless chili.  Lots of fresh veggies in it, onions, mushrooms, three colors of peppers, white beans, tomatoes and green chilies, and a packet of chili mix.  I simmered it for about an hour and it was so good!  I served it over brown rice.  Filling, healthy, delicious.  Trifecta of goodness.

Next up some episodes of House of Cards and one episode of Crossing Lines.  That's it, my day in a nutshell.  Boring?  Nope.  Fun?  Yup.

Today I have canasta and lunch at the club and that's about it.  Hope your day is totally tits.  Mine will be for sure!

Can you see the rainbow from last night?  We had a big storm and then it went away and this happened.  Just beautiful!

I'm off today, totally nothing that I have to do.  No one coming over, no games, no shopping, nothing.  What a delicious thought!  I plan on trying to sleep a bit late, I've been waking up pretty early lately.  Then a leisurely breakfast, maybe on the balcony with my computer.  Maybe a second cup of coffee which I rarely do.  Who knows?  But whatever I do I will have a lovely day.

Oh.  Wait.  I forgot I have Andre' to beat me up train me.  Oh well, it's only one thing I have to do.  I'll suck it up and go.

Another thing, we have a/c!  Yes, it's temporarily repaired awaiting on the new cooling tower to be installed but one way or the other, we do have air.

So y'all have a great Friday.  Just like me!

I took this yesterday, it was beautiful at the pool and I got my hour done.  I am way up at the top right, third from the top.

To update you on my Comcast/Xfinity problem of yesterday I did finally have a credit issued to my account for the service call.  We are currently about to sign a contract for another five years in the condo association so I played my trump card.  I didn't want to have to do that but I finally did after I got myself all upset.

It's certainly not the forty bucks, I'd toss that much in the trash rather than get this upset but it was the idea that they lied to me and I just wouldn't let it go.  Anyway, it's done now.

And at the end I got a call from their customer care with a very condescending woman telling me she would issue the credit but they were doing what they were supposed to do.  I told her that the service to their customers was poor and that was the issue.  She really didn't get it so finally I just told her thank you and ended the call.

Onward and upward to all of us now.  Today I shall be in the card room hopefully winning two bucks for five hours work.  Ha ha.

Hope your Thursday is lovely and thanks for all your support.

Comcast/Xfinity makes my blood pressure rise!

Comcast. Xfinity.  Whatever they are calling themselves today have me so frustrated, once again.  That whole *other charges and credits* thingy?  That is because their service was not working and they HAD to send a technician to fix it.  When I called to ask that this charge be removed they were so sweet and said there was nothing they could do for me.  I asked to be transferred to a supervisor and I was transferred to - are you ready for it? - a dial tone.  I called back and it happened a second time.  To say I am beyond frustrated with them again is putting it mildly.  Get your act together please people of Comcast/Xfinity!!

I love the clouds behind the palm trees.  These particular trees and the pink oleander is behind the pool so that's why I seem to take so many photos of them while I sit out there.  Nature is amazing in all it's glory.

While I am still watching the second season of House of Cards and loving it yesterday a friend suggested that I start watching Crossing Lines as well.  Well it's really good too.  There is really a lot of things to watch these days.

So last night at poker it wasn't too hot in there, several of us brought fans and the air moved around pretty good.  Oh, and I won $45.00 while I was at it.

Today I don't have any games so I'll be at the pool.  Yay me.  Yesterday between Andre' and the pool and my walk I burned a bunch of calories.  Today I'll try to do good too but I won't be at the gym so it won't be as many.

Guess that's all I have today y'all.  Have a great Wednesday, I sure will too!

Yesterday's mail brought me a red velvet cake mix and a fantastic card from Paul (who said I can link his blog now) that I have to make myself.  If anyone wants to come bake for me that'd be fine too.  The funny thing to me is everything on the box is in English and French because it came from Canada.  I found a recipe for making red velvet cookies online from the cake mix so I shall do that!

Well I got all my chores done, the bed changed, the laundry done.  Today Steve and Jane are coming to shine up the place even though there is still no a/c.  They know it and want to come anyway so it's fine with me.  I'll be at the gym with Andre' and then the pool so it'll be a pleasure to go home afterward and have everything shiny and spiffy again.  I keep it very neat and pretty clean but they do some amazing stuff.

Also tonight is poker, it'll be hot in the card room but everyone wants to play, I'll take some fans down and we'll be okay.

I sure will be glad when this whole a/c fix is done.  It's a big job and it's in the works but it sure is a long drawn out affair.

Have a lovely day y'all.  I sure know I will too!

I thought I'd let you look at the duck today.  We had a nice time at the fundraiser yesterday but the speaker went really long.  She was a great speaker but everyone was getting antsy and they wanted to raise more money with a live auction and people were starting to leave.

I didn't win any of my bids on the silent auction although there were quite a few I bid on and wanted to win including a Prada handbag and a day as sheriff of Palm Beach County.  There were some really really nice items.

So then we went to Publix and the carwash and that was my day.  I ate too much but will not do so today.  One day won't hurt me.  I hope.  They had white chocolate cheesecake for dessert although the meal was a nice low cal chicken plate and it was delicious.  Still, I ate the cheesecake too.  And a roll.  It was catered by The Breakers and the food was wonderful.

Today will find me at the pool, it's supposed to be in the low 80's and with no a/c, well, that's where I'll be for sure.  I'll do my chores in the morning and then head down with water and a snack (probably grapes) and several towels and my kindle and sunglasses and sun block and my hat.  And Roche' and my iPhone.  And that's all I've got folks!  Have a great day, you know I will too!

Roche' wanted to show you his hairdo, he says he got beauty shopped.  Now he wants highlights.  I told him to forget it but he'll probably get his way.  He usually does.

Today the duck and I are going to the CARP Spring Luncheon.  I like the silent auctions, they usually have some really nice things to bid on.  Last year I only won one auction but I'll try again this year.  Roche' said he wanted to go too but the tickets are $150 and I refuse to buy him a seat.  He's pouting but I'll get him a surprise and he'll be happy again.

Less than two weeks until I cruise again.  It's only a 7 day, I like the 8 day so much better but it's the same ports over and over so this is a bit different.  Plus I usually stay on the ship anyway so who cares.

And that, my friends, is all I have today.  Hope your Sunday is totally tits.  I know mine will be!

Saturday, March 1, 2014

Paul asked for a new photo so this was yesterday before I got my hair done.  Strong?  I am.  Twenty six sessions, thirteen weeks done.  Weight?  The same.  The very same, maybe a pound less.  But you know what?  I stopped worrying about it.  I feel wonderful and I am healthy and strong.  How many 67 year old women can say that?  And I know Sarge is proud of what I have done.  I eat right 95% of the time and I like that too.  The photo is not retouched in any way and I had no makeup on at all.  Just moisturizer.

Next I went and got my hair done and then my trip to Costco.  I wanted a chicken and gasoline and to get my American Express rebate.  I got all of the above plus a bathing suit, shrimp, crab, roasting pans, 4 camisoles, underwear and strawberries.  I mean where can you go and get all that in one stop?  Of course I spent about a hundred bucks more than I meant to but still.

Today will find me in the card room playing canasta.  We still have no a/c but it is cool and not bothering me and I know they are going forward as fast as possible.  This is a huge job, a giant water cooler on the roof of a 21 story building.  It means cranes, city permits, shipment of the new cooler, a temporary cooler on the ground, two engineers including a structural one, lots of details.  It'll get done as soon as possible.

Have a great Saturday my friends.  I sure will too.
