Party day is upon me. I'm ready. Kyle has been a great help and is coming after work to move the tables and help me be all ready.  I should have around 35 people. I could handle 50 but didn't get that many. 

The menu is lasagna, salad, wraps, potato salad, slaw, breads, cheese ball, various snacks, cupcakes, cookies, pies , drinks and coffee. I have lots of hats, horns, beads, tiaras, etc. they are really getting a lot for their $25 fee!  I am not furnishing alcohol, just the mixes and ice. They can bring whatever alcohol they want. I do have a bartender.

Well I am now sleeping with all four kids, Roche' of course, Rochelle my new friend, Bojo my pink monkey and Saul Cedric, Roches' boyfriend. It's quite the little zoo I have going on in my bed. No wonder there is no room for a man! Lol

Wednesday is my hair day and last minute party shopping. I'm not playing Mahjong so I can get all I need to do done. I'm still nervous about the party. Bringing together so many very different people with one thing in common- neighbors.

Well Andre' whipped my butt but I kept up with it. The new gym is becoming very popular and that makes me so happy. I knew it would be a great addition to the building. 

I took my tree down last night. I'm like Sarge, once it's over it's just over. Move on. 

TCD gave me a new orchid so I put that where the tree was. 

So that's the news from my world. What about yours?

Is that moon beautiful or what?  Breathtaking. Sunday means the duck. I have shopping to do for the party. The Fern House is catering it and the duck is making the sauce for the lasagna. It's coming together very nicely. I hope everyone had a good time. I think they will but I am a bit nervous as I have never done anything like this before.

Meet Rochelle. She's a new friend of Roche's. She's not finished yet, she needs more sparkles but notice the pink eye shadow. Yep, she's a beauty. 

I had a lovely Christmas. I hope y'all did too. Now I have to gear up for the big New Years party. Stay tuned!

Whew. Hope it's good. It almost caused me a nervous breakdown! Lol

I mean I could almost bake a pie in my sleep I have made so many. But when it matters---?

                  Merry Christmas! 

So far it's been a bit of a disaster but I'm sure it will get better. I am to make TCD's mother a rhubarb pie and have it ready for their Christmas dinner as my gift. Yesterday I made the crusts and put them in the refrigerator and had the filling ready to go so I get up, preheat the oven and make the pie. I go to put it in the oven and the door won't open. I pushed clean instead of bake.  The door is locked!

Now I put the pie in the refrigerator and I'm waiting for the unlock to kick in. I hope I don't have to wait long!  Dumb me.

I saw this photo somewhere, not sure where but thought it was so cute. Of course if I did it I can't imagine it would look anything like this good but still I love it. 

So it's Christmas Eve. It's 82 degrees. It's sunny. My world is perfect. I'll be at the pool. Have a great day y'all!

Today I baked and froze the cupcakes for New Years Eve. I went to the pool but didn't swim. It was warm but windy and, well, I didn't and that's my only reason. Unless you count a lazy day?

I talked to Kyle today. He got up and had a shower so that's a big improvement.  Poor sick baby. 

D#1 sent my gift here and the duck's too. I have a feeling from the shape of the box that we both got him the same thing but maybe not. We shall find out in a few days.

Wow busy day. First up was Andre' who kicked my butt good and then a shower and next up was TCD who was ever so sweet as always and then I came home and ate a salad and rested a bit and then had dinner with a friend and that was very nice too. Great day all in all. 

Kyle is sick and I hope he feels better soon but I'm not going to get around him until he's well. Poor baby.

The wonderful mayor of the pool brought me a grilled chicken breast and I made a salad to make dinner. What a neighbor! Love them both!

I sent that to Kyle as a joke and he thought I was serious. It would be funny though. If it was a time to be funny. Which it isn't. Anyway I laughed. 

I had a nice lunch with the duck today. We are going to ride out to the cemetery Christmas Day. I like to say hi to sarge and see the wreaths on the graves. 

Tomorrow I get to see TCD for him to check something. It won't take but a minute but I'll get a hug. Or two.

This is Kyle's boyfriend's sister. She went with us. I liked her a lot. Very sweet girl. 

If it's warm enough I plan on going to the pool Saturday for a bit. The water is plenty warm but I need the air to be 80 and not sure we will make that. I hope so.

I am officially done and everything's wrapped and ready to go. I bought almost all of it online too. Even the wrapping paper and ribbon and bows. 

Now I can concentrate on the New Years Eve party. It won't be hard to do. I hope it's successful.

Mahjong luncheon. We had a few drinks. Possibly. Well I had two small ones. They had one large one each. 

Now it's time for the board meeting. Oh, and my windows look fabulous. They are floor to ceiling and all on the balconies so it's not like I make them hang outside in the nineteenth floor. Lol

We had a beautiful sunny day, warm and wonderful. 

Tomorrow I have my Mahjong Christmas party. We always exchange gifts and this year we are going to City Place for lunch. 

Then after that I have a board meeting and if it's done early enough I'm going to dinner with Ryan. He's singing with his group in s restaurant and we can eat there afterwards. 

Steve and Jane come today to shine up the condo. It was so windy lately my windows are really bad but they'll take care of them.

Seriously folks, no one has made me pancakes since Sarge died. Kyle made me these. And brought them to me. With coffee. Too bad he's only 28.  And gay. But other than that he's perfect.

It was Kyle's Christmas office party and Gennaro was working so I got to go with him. We had a great time and the catered food was wonderful. 

Fern House gifts are all wrapped for the 34 lucky children Monday night. And we will all have a wonderful dinner. Seems like everything is about food this time of year though. I'll try hard to be a bit good.

Our new little gym and Andre' gave me quite a workout this morning. I closed the drapes when I was in there but you can leave them open and look out at the pool. I just would rather it be more private while I'm working.  I'm very happy to have it in the building though.

So the morning will bring Andre' back to beat me up. If it's warm enough I'll get in the pool and if not I'll be in our new gym. I'll try to remember to take some photos for you.

I had to ride down the ocean to get to my mahjong game today so I snapped this while moving. The ocean was calm. Nice ride.  Then I lost my money to those ladies that played better than I did!

Next up is canasta tomorrow and then Andre' again on Friday. Saturday I am going to the Fern House to wrap gifts for the children at the party next week.  Santa will hand them out. The children get really nice gifts. It's a long time tradition for families of Fern House residents and alumni. There will be lots of food too. Lots of it!

The rainbow monkey went back with Kyle but Roche' now has his own little rainbow monkey to play with. They are quite smitten with each other actually. 

Our new gym is almost complete and I worked out with Andre' down there today. Nice!

Sweet onion pie recipe.

I thought it was really good and the others seemed to like it too. I made a homemade pie crust but you could use a store bought one if you wanted. I just like to make pie crusts. 

So this morning I got to go have my teeth cleaned. TCD told me I was beautiful and hugged me several times.  That man makes my toes curl I swear. But I get nothing more than a hug or hand holding or flirty eyes. I am not giving up though!

Today is a busy day for me. I have lunch with the duck followed by a concert that Ryan is in followed by dinner at the Mayor of the pools house. And in the middle of it I have an appetizer to make to bring to dinner. I decided to make a sweet onion pie. I couldn't find my old recipe but did find one online that I think is either the same or very close. 

I finished my Christmas shopping too. All online! D for done except to get the grandchildren's cards out to them. They all get cash, their gift of choice. I have the cards, I just have to get that done.

My wreath came today from LLBean. I thought this one shouted Christmas in Florida. 

So the doorman said I broke the record today. Twelve deliveries. Not bad!

So I had a second date and we had a discussion about not getting serious and dating other people and both seemed to agree that there is nothing wrong with a dinner here and there as we do like each other, just not romantically. It went well. 

Andre' is up next, 10:00 am. It's supposed to rain so not sure about the pool but I'll work out either way.

I had to swim in the rain but it was warm so I did it. Then I came up and got my shower and left for awhile so Steve and Jane could clean and then I had not one, not two, but three board meetings. They were all short so it wasn't too bad, just boring. 

Then I went out to dinner with one of the women on the board with me and we had a few drinks. And dessert. Nice.

So my date (that I call Alan because that is his name) asked me out again so we are going to dinner Thursday night. I have a feeling he is more interested than I am so I'll have to make some kind of decision soon because I don't want to lead him on if it's not for me. 

Wednesday I have two board meetings so no mahjong for me.

Well I'm not 70 (yet) but I think I'll take this advice. 

So how was the date?  It was nice. A quiet dinner and we talked about a lot of things, had two drinks, talked some more and he did kiss me. He has facial hair. I don't really enjoy being kissed by a hairy face but he was very sweet and I might see him again. Is he a prince? Not unless he shaves. But there is nothing wrong with a date where both people have a nice evening. 

So the sun is shining here and it is over 80 so I shall leave you now and head for the pool. Have a great day!
