Well it's the last day of May.  That means tomorrow I get to change the calendar and see what new square doggie photo will delight me next month.  Roche' likes it too, he naps by it sometimes.

The rain seemed to finally stop yesterday afternoon but it was sooooo windy!  Walking home from the club it was actually pushing me back.  I sure was glad I didn't have on a skirt.

Tomorrow I get to go to John G's and meet Roberta there.  Yay me!

Today I have a project in my closet that I want to get going on, it needs to be done badly.  There are ten drawers in there and I am only able to use five of them.  The others have junk in them.  It needs to go.  Now.

Not much else going on around here, I am playing cards again today and lunch at the club but that's about it.  Roche' is napping a lot in all the rain.  He wants me to read to him and when I do he goes right to sleep.

Well the little devil won.  You knew he would.  This is his new thong bikini and he is just thrilled with it.

Actually once I got him into it I think it's pretty cute.  He still wants me to hot glue rhinestones to him but I am fighting that.

I lost twelve dollars at poker last night but didn't play canasta so I'm even.  Today I am planning on playing canasta again, tried last week but it fell apart.  Maybe today will work out, if not, back to the pool.  

Yesterday was so windy but I managed to swim anyway.  It was all I could do to fight the current though so it was a good workout.  It was 80*, my bare minimum temperature to go in.  Soon it will be hot and that will be wonderful.  I still am tanning too much though.  Too much tan ages the skin so bad, I really don't want it.  Maybe I should start going in around 4-5:00 instead.  That's a good idea.

And so my friends have a lovely Wednesday.  I will too.

The barbecue at the club was very nice, I ate way too much but I planned for it and exercised for it and then I ate it so it's all good.  We were a table of 14 and had a lot of nice conversations and laughs.

Today I don't have canasta but I do have poker tonight.  Hope I don't lose again but if I do, oh well.

The pool has been perfectly lovely, warm and delicious, and I have been doing 30-45 minutes a day, sometimes more.  It is making me so strong I can hardly believe it, I really think I am stronger now than I was at 40.  Amazing!

I think I shall have a picnic with Roche' today.  Out on the terrace maybe.  Sounds like a plan... have a great day.  I know I will!

Memorial Day at my house...

Here is Roche' drying himself and sunning a bit after yesterday's swim.  He wore a pink spandex suit with a red heart.  He especially wanted me to tell you about the suit as he is very proud of it.  I talked him out of a thong. You are welcome.

Tomorrow is Memorial Day.  Please remember the reason for the holiday.  Sarge always did.  It's a very sad day for me.  And please don't say "happy Memorial Day" if you don't mind.  It is very offensive to someone that has lost someone to protect you and your freedom.  I don't usually ask for anything but I do ask this of you.  Thank you.

The duck wouldn't take Roche' for a ride.  He said "pshhhh" and told me I am nuts.  Rats.  I was hoping they would bond.  You know they are brothers.

Friendship... and other stuff

Yesterday I was sitting there waiting for my delivery and I got a call from a dear friend that started the call by saying "I just wanted to thank you for your friendship".  I don't think anyone ever said this to me before and I cannot tell you how lovely it felt.  I mean I have had people say I was a good friend, things like that, but never the "thank you" before.  If you have a dear friend you might do this for them and make their day as well.

So here's a good one for you.  We have a door person (well several) that is not the brightest bulb on the string.  Here's what happened.  The maintenance man left his phone and I took it downstairs to give it back to him.  He had already left.  The door person said "that's okay, I'll call him".  Which she did.  And left a message on his voicemail.  Twice.   You can't make this stuff up.

Well the three day weekend is upon us.  This one is so much more than the barbecue though, Memorial Day is to reflect upon and remember our heros that gave their lives that you may have your freedom.  After that then it's okay to grill!  Happy summer y'all...

I bought a bigger tv for the bedroom and it is being delivered today.  Then I have to get the guy that will hang it on the wall for me up here and I'll be all set.  The duck is getting my other tv to use as a computer monitor. 

I have a new favorite way to cook fish.  I had cod and put it on foil and added a teaspoon of butter and three thin slices of lemon and closed up the packet and baked it at 375* for 22 minutes.  It was SO good.  I'll sure do that again.  Low cal and delicious is a win/win.  I like plain food.  I also like spicy food.  I guess I just like food.

Roche' wants to go for a ride today.  I don't know if I'll take him or not, maybe I'll get the duck to take him.  Yeah, that's happening.  Ha ha.

Well it all started when my card game got cancelled.  I got out my glue gun to put some lace on something and Roche' wanted it.  Now it's not glued to him but rather it's what he likes to call a "mani skirt".  He also wanted me to hot glue rhinestones on him but I wouldn't.  I was afraid it would hurt.  He told me it wouldn't because, well, he's a rock and all, but still.

Steve and Jane came yesterday and I went to the pool.  It is so full from the rain I could barely touch the bottom but I did thirty minutes and it was lovely.  I am seriously getting way too tan.  I don't much know what to do about it either, I don't get in the sun at all unless I am in the pool but I am tanning all the way to my toes.  Sunscreen doesn't stop it either.  I am sort of olive skinned and I guess that's why.

I made iced tea yesterday.  I used to make it all the time for Sarge but sort of forgot about it and hadn't made it for a long time.  It tasted so good!  Refreshing and no calories, a win/win.

This is Signorina Sorriso, Roche's friend in Italy.  She is a cutie pie and is living with Ivana. He thinks she needs some jewelry though.  Sorriso means "smile" so she is "Miss. Smile".  She made me do so!

I didn't do very good at poker yesterday, I put in eighty and got out thirty two.  Buggers.  Today I got in a game at the club so I have something to do.  

The pool is full to the brim and cold since we had so much rain.  I hope they get the heater going a bit.

No swimming for me yesterday, it rained and rained and then it rained.  We don't get too many days like that and I don't much like them but it is what it is so I went to the dentist (all is fine) and just came home.  

Roche' was bored so I read to him and we played pat-a-rock for a bit.  I made that up and sang a bit of Jingle Bells at the same time.  He was amused.

One of his brothers is coming to visit me in late July.  Play date!  He's making plans already.  He his some of his toys that he doesn't want to share though.  Little devil.

So today is canasta and poker again already.  And the last time for several of our players that are going north later in the week.  We are having cake to celebrate.  Oh yeah.

Well today will find me at the dentist and then the pool afterward and the fruit stand too, I never did get there this week though I meant to go.  I also think I'll make my cauliflower soup this afternoon.  

I got Roche' some feathers and he seemed pleased with them.  He likes color and pink the best.  He asked if he can have a boa but I don't know...  I mean how effeminate can a rock be?  I was hoping for a gay friend because I think they are the best friend a gal can have but he's seriously turning into a full blown drag queen.  (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

And so, before I get into any more trouble, I shall close for today.  I hope your Monday is fabulous.  Mine will be as fabulous as a trip to the dentist can be...

I found Roche' napping on my bed when I got back from swimming.  He was a bit mad that I didn't take him today so he got on my side of the bed and wouldn't move over.

I also caught him in the fish oil.  Who knew?  Maybe it'll do him some good.  You know he really is a sweet little thing.  And not a bit spoiled.

Today I shall be in the Walmart with the duck.  I told Roche' he couldn't go so he is making me buy him something.  I probably would have anyway.

The pool was amazing yesterday.  It started out as a rainy day and I thought I wouldn't be able to swim but by lunchtime it was clear, warm, sunny, and perfect.  I worked for almost an hour!  I can't believe how long I can exercise in water.  I couldn't do 10 minutes of jogging on land I don't think.

Roche' almost demanded to go in too and I kept telling him he'd sink like a rock but nooooo, he had to go.  I had a devil of a time rescuing him after that little incident.  I told him he should stick to bubble baths and then he wanted bubbles in the pool!  Little devil.

I did all of my chores yesterday too so today I am totally free to do whatever I like.  What an amazing thought.

Have you tried Aveeno positively ageless firming body lotion?  This is not a paid ad or anything, it's just a product I found that I really like.  It does have a slight scent which I do not like but as far as firming lotions go it's about the best I have tried.  I had a sample from my dermatologist and then bought it.

Oh baby I lost twelve bucks at canasta yesterday!  A big loss for me.  Anyway it's still a cheap day out so it's all good.

Today is supposed to be warm and sunny so I'll be "you-know-where" and maybe a trip to the fruit stand as well.  It depends on how Roche' is feeling.  He decided he likes warm bubble baths now in a pink bowl.  He's so cute, the bubbles make him sneeze!

Monday I have to go to the dentist again already.  It sure comes around fast.  I wonder if I still need to go every three months, I think I'll ask them.  Maybe I can go every four months now.

Wow it's beautiful here.  I had some friends over yesterday and they loved the apartment.  Just loved it.  I do too.

Roche' decided he likes to be read to, he especially likes cookbooks.  I like to read cookbooks too so it's good that we have the same taste (so to speak).  Anyway he can be a little hand full when he wants to be but most of the time we just have fun.

Today is canasta and lunch with the girls so I'll get him in for his nap before I go.  He hasn't started playing cards yet but might in the future.  He's still a little young yet I think.

So yesterday I won eight dollars at canasta and lost thirty-five at poker so that's breaking even.  

We had a "cold front" come through, it got into the 70's which is too cold to swim but the humidity is low and it is beautiful outside.  Perfect actually except for not being able to swim.

May is half over already.  I honestly don't know where the time is going, it flies by so fast.  Some days I just wish I could slow it down a bit.  Or a lot.

Diamond party...

I told you before there were six diamond cruisers and twelve ship's officers.  The one-on-one time was amazing!  Jose Pisa, the hotel manager and Captain Leotta chatted for about twenty minutes with us!  They were both charming and attentive.  The diamond party I attended before had about thirty diamond cruisers and maybe six officers.  Much different this time.

So yesterday the guys came to service the storm shutters.  I asked them what they were spraying on them and it was aluminum wax in case you want to save yourself $340.00 and do it yourself.  They polished them with the wax and they sure do slide nicely now.

Today it's back to canasta and poker tonight, back to the regular routine.   Regular routine is good.  With the pool tossed in for good measure all is right in my world.  Hope yours is the same... and have a lovely Tuesday!

Well the heater is turned off in the pool now but it was fine, I guess it'll be off now all summer.  I like it slightly warmer but soon it will be and I managed to do a good workout.  

Today I am having the storm shutters serviced.  I was scheduled before the cruise but it rained that day so they called to reschedule and today is the day.  The salt air makes them hard to slide after a while so they wax them.  You can't really use something like WD-40 because it just gets gummy with salt.  

If they finish up early enough I need to run to the fruit stand after.  

I gained six pounds on the cruise.  I know most of it HAS to be water retention because the food was salty and I didn't eat that much and I did exercise so it will come off soon.  I hope.  Please.  Anyway I feel good so it's okay.  No, it's not.

Roche' has napped quite a bit since we've been back.  He's not really lazy, just worn out from partying like a "rock" star.  Bless his heart.

Happy Mother's Day!

So when I got home yesterday the chandelier was up in the small bathroom!  It's hard to see because of the reflections in the mirror but trust me, it's crystal and pink and it's beautiful!  The photo is yellow-e looking but the chandelier is not, it's just crystal and pink.

Hopefully I'll be able to go to the pool today.  I did good in the pool on the ship, I watched the big screen tv and the time went by so fast.  But on sea days I didn't, too many people in there and I imagined it was a cesspool of pee.  But on port days the water was new and salty and the pool was all mine.  There were three pools on the ship but I only got in one of them.

No more cruises booked at this time but that's fine.  I have a trip planned in July where I'll fly and spend a week with d#1.  

So have a lovely day y'all.  I sure will!  Roche' is spending Mother's Day with me all day long!  Oh, and the duck too.  (kidding!)

Home sweet home...

Oh my it feels good to be home and Roche' thinks so too. We are going to nap, we are unpacked though. Back soon...

Final day... at sea

The hotel manager Jose Pisa, me, the duck, and Captain Roberto Leotta at last night's diamond party. There were 12 ship's officers and six diamond guests so the one on one time was fantastic! They asked us lots of questions as to what we liked, didn't like, things about the food, entertainment, all of it.

Tomorrow is back to Florida, it goes by so fast. If I can stay out of the casino tonight I only lost abouta hundred bucks, if not, well...

Grand Cayman

Welcome to Grand (build a sodding pier) Cayman. Roche' is sunbathing but first we went in the pool for an hour. I held him so he didn't sink. I was trying to exercise and hold Roche' and so I got a good workout.




Everyone else went ashore in the tender boat but we stayed back and enjoyed the balcony for a bit and had a nap and then went to the Lido for lunch.

All is well in my world, tonight is cocktails with the Captain in the piano bar for the diamond guests. Roche' is going too. He seems to like the umbrella drinks.

Hope your world is as good as mine!
