Yesterday was so warm I got home from cards and ran upstairs to change and get in the pool. The water was very warm and delicious and it felt so good to get back in. Today is heading toward 90 and you know where I'll be for sure. Besides burning a lot of calories it just feels so good. I sleep so much better when I get this exercise too.
I made those fish tacos again last night. They were just so good! Besides I had another avocado that needed using. I have been finding small ones lately that are really good. I know they are high calorie but they are so healthy I still eat them sometimes. This week I won't buy them though, I have eaten two already.
Oh, and do you remember how, years ago, we would take the seed from an avocado and put three toothpicks in it and put it in a glass of water to grow a tree? Well I did that yesterday to see what happens. If it grows I'll show you. I don't know why I remembered doing that, it just kicked in. I guess the fish oil was working.
Have a wonderful Sunday y'all. I will too, I'll be you-know-where!
So Lucky I am thinking of turning my pool on next week. I need the exercise.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
I actually don't recall my mother ever having an avocado in the house, so no, I never tried to grow an avaocado tree. Umm... your condo may be just a bit small for growing trees, honey. hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day poolside! big hugs xoxo
Yay! You finally were able to use the pool again! And yes, I remember growing a plant from an avocado seed long ago. Made a pretty houseplant, never got too big. Never got avocados, either, but that's ok. Enjoy your day today, hope you can get more pool time. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish it was warm here, we've had snow again. :(
ReplyDeleteI grew quite a tall Avocado tree doing that very thing. After it got a nice root system in the glass of water, I transfer it to a pot of dirt--just buried 3/4 in the dirt. It just grew and grew and the kids thought it was so much fun. We didn't like Avocado to eat, so I just bought one and threw away the edible part and let the pit dry out a bit, LOL.
ReplyDeleteWe have an avocado tree in our backyard that Zane started just that way. It works. It's a beautiful tree too, but it's really big.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you finally got that weather you've been wanting. Good for you.
Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from chilly, but sunny California. ☺
I love how the toes match the towel! So glad you got some pool time. Having an avocado tree would be pure heaven. They are such a wonderful fruit!
ReplyDeleteAvocados are so yummy. My grandma had a tree in her backyard. Back then I did not like avocados. Too bad. Wish I had both my grandma and that tree right now.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would be at the pool. Pretty toes!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
Ciao!
ReplyDeleteGlad that your Spring works, here it's Winter!
A bad Sunday, and sore throat!!!
Big hugs!
Thank you for your kind thoughts and words when Eric had to leave for the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him very much.
ReplyDeleteNo avocado trees for me either. I never even heard of them until recently, and still never bought one. Though I do enjoy them in my new favorite obsession... sushi!!! (not the raw fish kind, the veggie skinny kind!)
