Yesterday was a lovely day all day long!  I started out going to the pool early and had a really good workout and then read my book for a bit out there.

After my shower I called the duck and he was free for lunch so he picked me up and we went to Panera Bread.  I love to go there because they have the calories next to the price on every single item they have.  I had a delicious 386 calorie lunch and was completely full afterward.

Also we parked a good way from the shop and walked, I was surprised that I could walk that far at a pretty good (for me) pace.  Progress my friends, progress.

Today I have canasta again, this is our last Saturday game for the summer, the winter games start back next week and I don't have a regular winter Saturday game.  I was asked to play but said I would be a sub for them when they needed someone but didn't want another weekly game.  I only played in the summer game because they needed a fourth for their game.

The old wrinkly guy was out at the pool again.  The one that plays his radio in some other language. Well I was reading my book on the other side of the pool and I looked at him.  He was watching his radio like it was a tv.  Then I couldn't look away and the more he did it the funnier I thought it was so I had to go back upstairs to get away.  He was holding it about 5 inches away from his face just staring into the depths of it.  I think we have a whole can of mixed nuts in this building.

So here's hoping your Saturday will be as good as mine because mine is going to be fabulous!

  1. One of my favorite BBC show "The Vicar Of Dibley" one of the crazy (the whole village is full of crazies as only the British can) was telling how his VCR didn't work. They all look at him and ask when did he get a TV and he says I don't have a TV I hooked it up to the radio and it doesn't work !

    cheers, parsnip

  2. He probably doesn't realize that you're reading a book. Imagine what you holding and touching the Kindle must look like to him. :)

Yay you for walking. You are doing so well! Have a lovely day. big hugs xoxo

  3. A rainy fall day here but I will be with all my family for Canadian Thanksgiving turkey dinner tonight. If I don't get enough leftovers I may have to cook my own turkey tomorrow!
You are doing so well with your lifestyle change, keep it up. I keep falling off the BeeWagon!!

  4. Please, you make my sides hurt! I was thinkin' when your story began that I sometimes look at what I'm listening to, to help me concentrate, but five inches!!! Too funny.

  6. " I think we have a whole can of mixed nuts in this building." Be careful of what you say Bee. Remember that you live in that building. Ha,ha,ha. We have three people living in our home and I'm the only nut in the place.
You know Bee, I would love to have a photo of you and the duck together now that you both have lost so much weight. Thanks for getting me involved with this fitness pal. I"m learning so much about what food. I went to MacDonald's with my cousin and I asked the girls what they have that calories on the menu. They know me well and they grabbed a paper about their food and showed me what might be good for me. I had a chicken wrap with chapolti and a coffee. Ordinarily I would have chosen a large fries with an Angus hamburger with bacon & cheese. It would have been 1200 calories. What I had was less 300 calories and it was good. Thank you my beautiful friend. See you soon Bee.

  7. What a lovely day indeed and you got to have lunch with the Duck too. Excellent.

I love your condo. It's so very nicely done.

I laughed at the wrinkled old man and his radio. You just don't see too many transistor radios anymore.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  8. I love any restaurant that posts calories. Most of the stuff is NWI (not worth it!) In New York City, they have to post calories of everything at any restaurant that has more than one location. Most of them do, so it is great! Some stuff is so fattening that it is amazing that anyone ever eats it!

  10. mixed nuts... that's what you get in a place full of people. Your place reminds me so much of our high rise unit in Nashville. I love that little chest behind the sofa. Perfect placement there!

  12. I LOVE your little table for Sarge, with his flag. I was blessed to find the courage to ask my Grandma if I could have my PopPop's flag for my birthday. I didn't want anything else, but I have had it in my head for awhile that I want to be the custodian of that flag. I hope to get some pics of him in uniform framed up to display with it. I remember being so proud at his funeral, in a snowstorm that a few army folks arrived from two hours away to make sure he received a military style burial. He was an MP, never left our shores, but was still so proud of his service. As we were, too.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make my comment all about me. I wanted to say I loved the look of your home. So clean, organized, clutter free!!!
