Windy day yesterday...

I don't know if you can see it or not but it was so windy yesterday I couldn't swim.  At all.   In fact I could barely walk outside!  Buggers to that.  Anyway I found other things to keep me busy.  I did go to the fruit stand and got some yummy veggies.  The duck was busy and couldn't go with me so I went by myself.

Interesting I don't even get tired now walking in the store.  Well unless it's a big one that is.  Just a few months ago I couldn't do that.  And now I can.  That is thrilling.  When I got my purchases in the car I was walking the cart back to the store and realized what I was doing.  I used to have to leave the cart in the parking lot because I couldn't walk any more.  All of a sudden it hit me, I am almost back to normal!  *thud*

Have any of you tried coconut water?  The one with no calories?  I got some that was pineapple coconut, zero calories.  The first sip is very good but the jury is still out on if I am going to like it or not.  I think it would, however, be a good addition to some powdered sugar to make a drizzle for a cake instead of regular frosting.

Well I hope it won't be too windy today but if it is I'll get busy on something else.  Have a great Saturday y'all.  I will too...

  1. have not tried the water but I bet it would taste good with rum... MMM rum.. Also I bet you could marinade chicken in it as well. Or even reduce it for a sauce on chicken maybe a splash of a salty like soy and a home made teriaki type sauce.

  2. The coconut water doesn't sound very appealing to me. But I'm not much for sweet.

Another NSV for you! Woohoo! I am on the hunt for some fresh produce today, too. I am down to 1 banana, 2 pears and a couple apples, some frozen veggies... and no stuff at all left to make salad! Those are my Power Foods right now so I must re-stock! It's much easier not cheating when there are healthier, more sensible snacks around. Even my parents are eating lots more fresh fruit since it's right there on the counter to grab.

I also plan to pick up some Jack Daniels today! No, not to drink. I'll stick to my glass of wine, thankyouverymuch. But I found a recipe for a Bourbon marinate for salmon, or any fish or steak, really... It's supposed to be a lot like Longhorn's marinade for salmon, which I absolutely LOVE. I'm thinking that's what's for supper tonight. I'll let you know when the verdict comes in!

Enjoy your day! big hugs xoxo

  3. Everyone around here coconut water is the "it" thing. It is supposed to be very hydrating. I agree, it tastes good for a few sips and then is sort of gross. Maybe we should sip it while watching survivor.

  4. I like my water unadorned, or with a slice of lemon. I have tried the coconut water. Meh. I think you negate the 0 calorie think when you mix it with sugar. ;-)

It's amazing how much stress even a little extra weight puts on the body and limbs, isn't it? You've done some hard work to get where you are and it's paying off. I'm happy for you!

  7. "You have built up your stamina and endurance with the everyday consistent exercise, swimming and walking." I totally agree with Jo Dee and I'm also very proud of you Bee. Now you and I will be able to go for a walk on the deck of the Carnival Breeze soon. Yesterday Mary Lou and I went and completed our final payment for our cruise. I'm really looking forward to this cruise. I need it after the year we've had. See you my gorgeous friend.

  9. Being able to walk without problems is so life changing, I know from when I had my knee replacement. :)

Not heard of coconut water, maybe we don't have it over here.

  12. Coconut water the new "thing" that people just have to have while riding in their cars to the gym. In a short time this will be gone and a new "it" will come along.
I like my water plain, slice of lemon or with the little packet of Crystal light mixed with my water.
Good for you on the walking.

    cheers, parsnip

  13. Bee, I know you must be feeling great ,to know you are so much stronger now. I am thrilled for you. Hey, that coconut water might be good with a splash of vodka.LOL Just kidding. That would be too many calories. How is the duck getting along? Hope you have a wonderful weekend. xoxo, Susie

  14. I had coconut out of a coconut in Honduras and Belize on my cruise the first of this month. In Honduras I had it plain, in Belize I admit it had rum in it. The locals we visited with in Belize said they use it to cook with a lot and it is supposed to be very good for you.

So very happy with how healthy you are getting Bee. Will I even recognize you on BC6?

    Big Hugs,

    Bobbi
