Thursday in my house...

I painted this some years back but still love it.  I wish it was larger but it's not.  Most of my art was left in the Podunk house when we sold it because they bought it furnished.  Anyway the reason for showing you this is that I want to somehow feature it somewhere.  That's one of Daniel's jobs.  (Daniel is the decorator.)

What I told him that I wanted was to (in Jean's words) "girl it up some".  I loved that idea.  Anyway what we are discussing doing is crown moulding all around and recovering the sofas, some new lamps, a fabric king sized headboard for the twin beds, some draperies, changing the counter tops,  painting everything, stuff like that.  The next meeting is Saturday at 1:00 with his assistant,  That's all I know for now.  He works for Carleton Varney.   Daniel's portfolio is fabulous.  I mean really fabulous.

Mahjong went really good yesterday, I won two hands and lost a little for the day but the gals and I had such a good time.  Today is canasta.  And the pool is closed.  They are painting something out there, I'm not sure what but I won't be able to swim after cards.  I'll have to walk more.  It should be reopened by Friday though.

So that wrapped up my day.  Hope yours was as good...

  1. I'm so excited about this. I love the idea of a fabric headboard! And you won't believe what the crown moulding will do... it will make any colors you use "pop"

I'm so excited!!!!! I can't wait to see what he comes up with for ya!

  2. I'm glad you got a pro with an ASID designation, too. That means he's a pro and just some yahoo. :-)

I saw some pics of his work and he's fairly edited in his style. I like that because it means he won't be buying you all sorts of useless accessories and gee-gaws to get a bigger commission. What I saw was very clean and simple.

  6. I love your paintings. I mean I really love them! You are SO talented. Perhaps you should pick that up again. I don't know why you stopped painting, of course, but it might be something to consider. When I think back to when you first started doodling... to think you can paint like THAT and you were doodling! Oh, my!

Not that doodling is bad. I quite enjoy it. But I certainly can't paint!

And love the idea of a king headboard! What a difference that will make in the room. I can't wait to see the colors, layers and accessories that you and Daniel make! This is so exciting!

Have yourself a YAYful day. It's my birthday, so I'm pretty sure there will be cake involved. :)

    big hugs xoxo

  10. LOVE your painting! You for sure need to feature it! Daniel's ideas sound great, and should be much fun. You may want to go on a cruise while they do the work, though. Just sayin...
Phooey on the pool being closed. Can't they plan their maintenance around your cruise schedule so you don't have to miss any pool time? What were they thinking?
    Have a wonderful day anyway!

Now as far as the designer/decorator you have fun. In our home when it came time to get a designer/decorator, guess who it was? ME and some help from Mary Lou a lot of help. Ha,ha,ha.
Sorry that you can't go to the pool. Walking is also good. That's where I'm going after I'm finished writing to you. Bye for now my lovely friend.

  13. Love the painting too. Kind of reminds me of Monet. The colors and texture. Monet is my favorite and you're my second favorite.

I can't wait to see what you do to your condo. It will be fabulous I'm sure. Crown molding rocks too. Good choice.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from sunny California. :)
