Wednesday is Mahjong - and the decorator is coming too!

I am posting these for last minute ideas.
He is coming this evening at 6:00.

Looking into the den.
There is another bath and
walk in closet int there too.

There you can see into where the bath/closet is.  Y'all.

Now I know the bedroom is dreadful.
I got the twin tempu-pedic beds
that go up and down when Sarge was so sick.

That little desk next to the chair was mine when
I was a child.  I did my homework on it.
The other one can go (and should).

So any last minute thoughts would be appreciated.  The beige tile is everywhere, even on the two terraces.  It's neutral and in good shape so it will probably stay.  Am I sorry I got that instead of wood floors?  No, I don't think so.  I love the look of wood but the tile is so easy and cool to walk on and I like it.

So last night I lost eight dollars at poker, not too bad for a whole evening.  Oh, and I won twenty-five cents at canasta so I'm even, right?  Yeah, that's what I thought.

Oh, the cupcakes were a smash hit.  Everyone loved them and it was the dealer's birthday so I told them they were for that and they all got gobbled up and enjoyed.  I ate the smallest one.  I have to say it was pretty danged good.

So it's Mahjong for me this morning and you know I love that.  We are playing at the club this week because we're having lunch first and the gal that had the knee replaced won't have to walk back to our condo card room if we just stay there.

Have yourselves a totally lovely Wednesday,  I will too!

  1. I'm terrible at this kind of thing. I'm more of neutral colors for the walls and the floor and then bold colors with the accents. Then I can change the accents when I want different colors. I'm pretty boring. I'm also not crafty at all. You'll get the help you need and you'll know what you want as soon as you see it.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  2. I've been watching ll sorts of decorating shows nd have gathered a bunch of current ideas, but one of the best is from Molly from Molly Bawn the blogger. She just helped her sister-in-law from Ireland go through her f-i-l's stuff after his passing. It took a month and was a huge problem for them. I'm getting old enough to knolw thagt I won't be around for a really long time, so it is time to "destuff" my home. She suggested that when hyour kids or good friends come over and admire something, tell them to take it now and help you declutter your space. We really do keep too much stuff to dust and move and keep track of. So, I am going to do some of your famous closet cleanings and look at the sheer volume of things that I don't reallhy use of need any more. We all can use less on the coffee tables or bookshelves----even less desks. I had a gorgeous ladies desk and my oldest dd#1 liked it and the next day we loaded it in the station wagon and took it to her foyer. The shows "stuffTV are showing simpler counters and tables and such. Go for a minimalist look and keep the things you really love. Cheer yourself up with some colorful replacements and find a few lamps or rugs that really please your eyes and enjoy the redo. Don't you think the young people spend a ton of money buying "stuff" that everyone has? I surely wonder where they get the money to have the latest styles when they have little kids. Remember to please Bonnie, not the deccorator.

  3. My mother was your dealer? :)

I had tile in my little cottage in Florida, the whole inside and the patio and I absolutely loved it! Hated the color, loved the coolness and ease of keeping it clean. And it's practically bullet-proof, too.

You have the bed frame I'd love to have! I'd love to be able to raise it up or down and everywhere in between. They are ridiculously expensive, but I think I'd love it. Except IF I ordered TempurPedic I'd probably go with the long twin, which is of course even MORE ridiculously expensive. One of Al & Barbara's daughters has it in King size. Well, she and the dogs and cats have it. Her poor husband threw up his hands in surrender and moved out to the guest bedroom, sans animals. And I can't say I blame him! hahaha!

Can't wait to see what the decorator and you come up with!

    big hugs xoxo

  5. Bee, If you love your childhood desk, don't let the decorater talk you out of keeping it. Things you love can be worked in. I love the tile floors and the white sofas. Keepers in my decorating. Enjoy your day, xoxo, Susie

  6. Good Wednesday to you dear Bee,
Would you like it if all of the walls were the same color, and you used your pillows, lamp shades, and throw blankets and bath towels and such for your accent colors?

What about pushing the two beds together, and getting a king sized duvet?
That might look very pretty in the bedroom.

    ((hugs))

  7. Looks interesting Bee. I wonder what the guy coming tonight wants to say about it. As I said before I love color but that's just me. That collection of ships on a stick is fantastic. I should take a photo of mine. It's stands out my itself, one ship, ha,ha,ha. I received it when I was with you and Charlie on the Dream. remember what's his name?
Have a great day my lovely friend.

  8. Oh, I so wish I could take that desk off your hands. If we need to turn our spare bedroom/office into a nursery in the near future I am going to have to have a desk in the living room for our garage business and such. And I just can't afford a nice one that is pretty. I do hope you enjoy making the changes, it will be a fun alternative to shopping. lol. Ok, maybe not an alternative, but something new to shop FOR! Ugh, preposition, right?! Sorry!

  11. In my world all flat surfaces are covered with paper. When I was a kid my parents' house was done up in Middle Eisenhower Blah. At one point we even had an aluminum Christmas tree, just like in the Charlie Brown special. But we never owned an avocado-colored appliance. Nevertheless, I don't pretend to know anything about decorating. I want a chair I can get in and out of easily enough, comfortable enough to snooze in if it suits me, and an unobstructed view of the TV. I want closets to hold my clothes and shelves to hold my books. And plugs. I want plenty of plugs.

This is not a lot of help, I suppose.

  12. Ciao!

I think I love the present look, and I'll like the next look of your home!
    It's an elegant flat!
    Have fun at Mahjong!

    Big hugs!!!

  15. Curmudgeon, we also had an aluminum Christmas tree with a color wheel. I loved watching the tree turn colors from the wheel.

  16. OH I also remember the aluminum Christmas tree with that color wheel. In fact, when I moved into my first apartment my parents gave it to me and I used it for my first two Christmas's!...LOL...Your condo looks beautiful and open and lovely. If you like art Bee you could use neutral colors on the walls and then get some beautiful colorful art to hang. But, personally, I would probably do something like Hunter green and ivory on the walls. Whatever you do, have lots of fun doing it.
