Storm shutters closed and I'm in for the duration, which I hope won't be too long.  I have everything I need and I am comfortable, all electronics charged and ready to go if the power goes out.  It's blowing and howling and raining sideways.  Something on the roof is banging.  But I understand we are not getting the worst of it.  Hope those that do stay safe.  Late season storms can be very bad as we all know.

And of course, once again, no pool for me.  I'll walk in the building for exercise, that's about my only choice unless I dance around the apartment.  It's too rainy to even walk to the club and use their gym.  Which if you have been keeping track I have not done anyway.  But might.  Someday.

Wooooshwooooooshhhhhhhhh.  That's what the wind sounds like.  Hour after hour.  Oh make it stop.  Somebody.  I have the tv on pretty loud but it doesn't cover up the sound.  This is the only time I don't like living so high up, the wind is much stronger.  Time to go someplace for a walk and maybe I won't hear it so much.

Hope your Friday is totally tits and if you are in this storm's path, be safe...

  2. No swimming? With all that the wind there would be lots more resistance and you'd burn way more calories...

Just kidding, of course! I'm so glad you have the storm shutters. All those years in Florida I wished I had least had shutters that were functional. Why is it they are just ornamental now? Are shutter hinges uber-special and THAT expensive?

Stay safe and secure. And blog and Facebook occasionally! big hugs xoxo

  3. It was so nasty here yesterday too. We never lose power but it was surging! I'm scared for the northeast. I hope that Sandy goes out to sea

  10. The weather is going crazy here also. Yesterday it was 79, bright sunshine and I was wearing shorts, today heavy winds, constant rain and it's in the lower 50's and this weekend the high will only be in lower 40's. Nutty isn't it.
Keep safe Bee. We'll be thinking about you all the time. See you that lovely beautiful friend of mine in Florida.

  11. Bee, Keep safe. You have been in my prayers through this storm. I am praying it goes out to sea and stays well away from the coast. I have been thinking of you,and wondering if you were getting some of the nasty weather. Walk in the halls maybe it will be okay...but don't over do. xo, Susie

  12. Stay safe, Bee. Sounds awful. I'm worried for the folks up north and what will happen when the storm collides with the Canadian cold front. It was 80 degrees in Detroit yesterday. The temp has dropped 30 degrees since 5PM yesterday and now it's cold and rainy. Fingers crossed Sandy won't don her Frankenstorm costume.

  13. I loved Florida when I was there, but those storms wouldn't be on the top of my list. I don't like those kind of storms. We had one in Oregon when I was little that went on for hours and hours. It was scary. Stay safe.

Here's wishing that the storm passes soon. Big hugs from chilly but sunny California. :)
