Weary of politics...

Very weary indeed.  Every day when I open my mailbox there is mail asking for money for this candidate or that one and the phone calls are driving me insane.  Everyone has already made up their mind and no one is going to change their mind so why are we going through all of this nonsense?

You know I love my MahJong gals.  A lot.  They are very liberal.  I am not.  They don't understand me and for the love of life I sure don't understand them but no one is going to change their minds.  Or mine.  We are just wasting time, money, and our nerves.  Just get it over with already and let the best man win.

I had no intention of getting in the pool yesterday but I did anyway, I didn't jog though because I am very careful of my hip right now.  I did, however, walk in the water for 30 minutes.  So far so good.  And it felt wonderful.  There was no one around and it was just warm and lovely, exactly what I needed.

Today is lunch and canasta at the club.  This week I have been on a big winning streak.  Too bad there was no poker, right?  Can I keep it up?

I was tickled to death that little Ian won Big Brother, I do think Dan played an amazing game but I think Ian did better.  And so it's on to Survivor!

So that's it from paradise today y'all.  Have a wonderful Thursday.  I know I will.

  1. I'm voting for Romney. Liberals baffle me.

  2. tired about the politics... so tired... It's just gotten so darn negative and people are so darn sensitive. I'm glad you got pool time. I miss the condo pool I had. It was a large, nice pool.

Hope today's a good day for you.

  3. After reading the post about not going in the pool because of your hip I was going to say that you should go in and just walk quietly, no jogging. I would think that would be good for the hip but not tax it in any way.
So over the election too ! In fact months ago, even years ago. So tiring blah blah blah blah !
Take care of your hip today.

    cheers, parsnip

  4. I'm afraid I'm gonna have a stroke before the election even happens! This crap in the Middle East is driving me crazy. I don't drink much but I'm thinking of getting bombed election eve - scared to death of the results!
Glad you exercised your hip gently. That's probably the best thing you could've done for it... Hope it heals quickly!!!

  5. I have always hated the derision that comes with an election but especially with a Presidential election. Don't ALL of these people - both parties! - realize that they are basically saying they think everybody who doesn't agree with them is stupid... or worse? Honestly, it makes me wonder why they even give me the time of day for the rest of the time that isn't an election. And too few of them can resist name-calling. I am about thisclose to blocking a friend on Facebook. And this person and I happen to agree on most issues.... I just find the way this person goes about it really unattractive and unpleasant.

You are absolutely right... nobody and nothing is going to change anyone's mind... or their vote. The only voice that counts is our Vote. And that will be the only time I voice my opinion... in the voting booth.

Have a lovely day, Miss Bee! big hugs xoxo

  6. I make it a promice to myself not to discuss politics with anyone other than hubby. But I do hate all these ads with nme calling and putting down the opposite candidate. Can these grown men not win on their own merits without putting down the other guy> Makes me crazy!

    1. As sad as it is to say, studies have been done and it turns out that these are the most effective ads. What does that say about us as a society?

  7. This is why discussing religion or politics is always dangerous. It is almost impossible to change anyone's mind. I am the opposite of my father politically and while we sometimes have mature debates, it is a slippery slope and often ends with him yammering about why I'm wrong and me tuning out!

I can't wait for the election to be over. Facebook is almost unbearable right now!

As for Big Brother, I'm glad that Ian won but surprised that everyone but Danielle voted for him.

  8. I agree Bee regarding the elections in the states. Living just across the Detroit River we get all the American stations and of course the election material.
I'm very happy that your leg is doing well. Enjoy your day my lovely friend. I'm off to play some golf, that's 18 holes of golf. Ta,ta. Ha,ha,ha. Bye.

  10. I cheered when Ian won--scared the cats with my noise and so glad Zane got knocked off Survivor--he was dumber then a box of rocks. Russ needs to calm down his bossy attitude or he will be next--he KNOWS being the leader doesn't work, so........

  11. You and I agree on politics honey. Always have always will. I do not for the life of me understand the far left. They are loony and that's the best adjective I can conjure up for them. I will be so happy when the election is over.

I'm thrilled that you went to the pool and took it easy . Good for you.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from chilly California. :)

  13. I am totally sick of politics.
Glad you got in the nice warm water yesterday, but you were wise not to jog. Walking is good! Hope you can do it again today. I had an opportunity to get in a pool over the weekend but I was too tired and lazy to make the effort. It would have been a lot of work for a short time. Probably should have done it anyway, but I didn't. Oh well! It's back to Zumba for me!

  14. Having not done any exercise for almost 3 week, having been away, it has been a big shock to my system getting back into Zumba and the gym this week - it does feel good though doesn't it?

  15. Have always been neutral in past prez elections, not this one, it's too important. What I am sick of is how terrible the elections are framed. The candidates have not been treated fairly, one doesn't walk on water and the other is not an uncaring mean greedy individual. Look right now our Embassy in Pakistan is burning, what is the current admin going to do?

Ok other than that I'm good! :)

  16. Sure, I'm sick of politics, too. It's the shrilliness that gets to me most ('shrilliness' is a word I just made up, combining shrill and silliness -- when this makes it into the OED, your blog will be cited as the first place the word appeared).

I'm having increasing difficulty believing any "facts" or "numbers" or "statistics," often even after I probe into them a bit. And I just can't go at it full-bore, full time.

But I know too many people involved in politics, at least tangentially, and I often feel sorta, kinda close to almost inside of things. That's an occupational hazard of the law, I suppose.

And, also, it's like a train wreck. You know you shouldn't watch -- either help or get out of the way -- but it's so hard not to stare.

I hope your hip feels better soon.

    November will get here eventually.

  17. Buongiorno!
Glad that you wanted to get in the pol for soft exercise!
    Politics...everywhere a bad beast!

I've a lot of tests to do, urgently!

    Big hugs!

  18. Bee, I am with you on the politics. Hate hearing , sure as heck don't want to talk about it. Honestly, sometimes, I just vote so I have the right to bitch. Cause they all lie once they have won.
You need to buy a lottery ticket, if you are being that lucky. You are smart not to aggrevate your hip, if it is acting up. Have some fun today. xoxo, Susie

  20. I also hope your hip is getting better.

Walking in water is quite a workout!

The election stuff is getting to me as well. And I do believe most folks have already made up their minds.

    Happy Thursday!

  21. With all due respect, there are typically about 10% who make up their minds between the debates and Election Day. THAT is who they're targeting.

  22. Glad you got to get in the pool. I wish I had one. The kids think we should sell our house and find an apartment or condo closer to Little Rock. It would be so much better for James not to commute so far and their are banks every where. I sort of like the idea, just they have accept pets and I would really like a small yard so I didn't always have to walk the dog. Not going to start worrying about it until after this cruise though. So thankful we can still go.

    Love and Hugs,

    Bobbi

  23. I'm hating politics. Period. I'm a registered Democrat because that's who's party I am most alighted with...but I am tired of the two party system. It's absolute crap.
