The Autumnal Equinox - today!

Today is the Autumnal Equinox.  Latin meaning "equal night", the same amount of day and night, light and dark.  The sun rises due east and sets due west on this day.  Also it's the first day of fall.  The favorite season of so many.  When we lived in Podunk it was certainly mine but in South Florida, well, not nearly as much.

Well I did get to have lunch with the duck yesterday.  He's doing good, just busy busy busy.  There is a golf tournament coming up to benefit the Fern House and that has him hopping along with all the other stuff in his daily day but he loves it and busy is much better than not busy!

So this is a photo of the new pillow I ordered.  It has a memory foam center and some kind of other thing on the outside to keep you cool, I forget what it's called.  Anyway it came yesterday and I used it.  For about an hour.  Then I got up and got my old one out.  The reason is the smell.  I know memory foam has an odor for a few days after you open it and then it goes away.  For the hour or so that I actually laid on it I found it very comfortable.  It'll be another few days before I get to try it for the whole night though.

Gosh is this my third post on a pillow?  Is my life that dull?  Well no, actually I love my life, I just don't have much to talk about.  I guess I should take another fish oil pill and let my brain go!

The pool was especially nice yesterday.  Not windy, warm, not too sunny, and very warm water.  And no one around.  What more could you want?  I know when the snow birds come back times like that will be few and far between but for now I am just enjoying the peace and quiet of the still almost empty building.

Have a perfectly lovely Saturday y'all.  I know I will...

  1. The toxic die-off gas from the TEMPURPEDIC memory foam isn't good for your health at all. It can last 2 or 3 years, even if the smell seems to dissipate after the first few months.

Despite having just bought one, I'd humbly suggest considering ordering some new 650 fill power goose down pillows instead in the softness or firmness you like.

Stale peanuts would be a better alternative than stolen ones. Just the principle of the thing.
i don't look forward to the kleptomaniac twins returning.
On the other hand, it'd be pretty funny if someone GLUED the peanuts to the jar so they couldn't steal them!

  2. Just wondering - who is the Duck? He looks very nice. Glad you got to have lunch with him. I have not been eating much, so maybe I'll add more fruit to the day. I almost slipped tonight, but held back. Ate a little thing of applesauce instead of a piece of pie. Yea me!!! Have a great Saturday!

  4. My pillows are Goose Down. You'd have to force them from my cold, dead fists to get mine away from me! hahahaha! It took me years and years to find pillows that I loved AND didn't hurt my neck and shoulders. And I don't like the memory foam small at all!

You can write as many posts as you want about pillows. =;->

Have yourself another lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  5. I used to have a pillow like that but someone in my house put it on his little bed. It is pouring here today. :( I can't wait for the time to change. It is so dark when my son wakes up in the morning to go to the bus stop!

  6. Eww, I can't stand things with smells...especially if I have to sleep on them. Memory foam does not sound like a good pillow option at all.

  7. Now that is funny Bee, peanuts stale without the twins, peanuts fresh while the twins are there. I guess it just means that the twins are needed in the club area. Ha,ha,ha.
Happy, happy, happy my wonderful friend. I've lost 10 lbs since you assisted me with this new method. Thank you Bee and Mary Lou says thank you also.
Our new fridge is great. It was just confusing at times reading about all the new things about it. Now it's working well.
Tonight is going to be my challenge. I know that there will be so much good food at the wedding. I'll let you know tomorrow. See you.

  8. You can write about anything you want to write about and I'll still show up. It's because I love you and care about what's going on in your world.

I'm so proud of you and your Bee Bandwagon. Being healthier is a good thing and I intend to look and feel better. Just like you.

Thanks for the update on the twins. I'm sure that when they return you'll have lots of blog fodder. I don't like those two and they should be ashamed of themselves, but they do add to your daily posts.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from cool California. :)

  10. Bee,
Duck is looking even thinner than your last photos of him.:) I love how you discribed the pool..best part you had it to yourself when you want to exercise:):) I am just like you about how foams and things have rubbery smells...can't stand that. I hope your pillow will air out and be fine.
Save those stale nuts for those twins..LOL. xo, Susie

  15. I think I have the generic version of that pillow and I love it. Hubby not so much. He can't shape it bend it squeeze it like he loves to do.

Oh, I almost forgot about the twins. Well at least they will make for great blog fodder.

OCD looks great! I am so glad that he is able to be an important part of your life. He's a good egg. As we say. Off to read the newer posts...
