Tuesday is poker! and other stuff...

I don't know if you can see how full the pool is but we have had over 4 inches of rain in the last two days!  Luckily I have managed to get in before and had some great exercise.  Yesterday I no sooner got upstairs than the golf course weather alarm sounded so I guess I was lucky again.  And the rain cooled it down a bit too, it had been like a bathtub before.

Do you realize August is almost half over already?  Labor Day is right around the corner.  In a way I'll be glad because so many "kiddies" are here visiting grandma before school starts and they run and splash and cause general havoc.  It's the same at Christmas vacation time.  Now if it were my grandchildren of course I'd feel totally different wouldn't I?

As I write this I still don't know if there is a canasta game today or not.  The one with the memory problems never tells us if she's playing until the last minute.  I'm getting pretty tired of that.  I'd love to drop out of that game and might.  It's just not fair to the other three of us as we can't plan our day at all until she makes a decision and even then she might not show up.  At least I do know I have poker tonight though.  I'd really just as soon go to the pool during the day if truth be known.

So here is hoping for another great day for us all!

  1. Lucky indeed - and glad that the rain cooled it down a bit.

Yes, anybody else's children are a pain, while your own generally tend to be more tolerable - a universal feeling from parents and grandparents:)

Drop out of that game. Its too irritating to be held hostage to someone else's last minute (or not) decisions!

    Enjoy poker.

    ((hugs))

  2. I guess it would be totally boring, but I wish our weather was like yours. The rain never goes where it's needed most, or so it seems. We got up to 112 today.
I feel that most kids are a royal pain. Yes, I dearly love my own, but I would've made a horrible teacher because I would have demanded respect and obedience in the classroom.
It's almost been a month now since I fractured my hip, so I've really lost sight of summer. Good thing I don't ever wear white shoes!
Happy gaming, whatever it may be!

  3. It does sound like it may be time to give that canasta game up. Bless her heart.

    Enjoy your jog!

Did you ever think you'd hear that phrase and have it be referring to you?! YAY! You're doing SO great!

    big hugs xoxo

  5. Buongiorno!!!

We are getting a new heat wave, this one is called Caligola, and the temp is over 40°C, it's very bad...the sky is clody, but no rain, it's humidity in the air! I was at the marketplace, but I felt not so good!
I was glad to meet our major, a german friend promised me a donation, so I spoke to our major today...it's for a kindergarten, that was terribly damaged from the earthquake!
I wish you a serene Tuesday!

    Big hugs!

  7. If it's no longer fun then don't do it anymore. Give yourself more time in the pool or whatever. Maybe you can rejoin the game after a bit, honestly doesn't sound as though the poor woman will be playing for too much longer.

  8. Looks like we all agree that if it's no longer fun than don't do it anymore. That's the way Zane and I roll. We dropped one of our yacht clubs for that very reason.

I'm so proud of you for exercising and walking all those stores. That's a huge accomplishment and I know that you know that. You rock. You are also a great inspiration. Yes, I'm going to get rid of a few pounds too.

Have a terrific day honey and win big at poker tonight. Big hugs and tons of love. :)

  9. I agree with the others. If it feels good, do it. If it doesn't, then stop. Simple. Not always.

    Big hugs, honey...

  10. I'm so sad about the end of summer. Next week it is back to school, homework, carpooling, schedules, etc.

you should drop out of your game if it is not fine. Life is too short!

  12. Hey Bee, I feel bad for Japolina with her school, homework, carpooling and so on. You and I know the enjoyment of retirement. Once a friend of mine said to me he couldn't wait until Saturday. I looked at him and said, everyday is Saturday for me. He didn't like that comment.
My lovely friend, you should get out of that game if you no longer enjoy the game being worried about if the game will be there or not. I feel bad for that lady but it seems that she she is destroying the love of the game for the rest of you wonderful ladies.
I'm so amazed and respected with your love of the pool. That will continue your losing of the weight as well as your body movement. You are wonderful lady. Keep it up Bee.
Last night as I lay in my bed, the sound of the rain outside so was so relaxful. I just love that sound. It doesn't take long before I'm sleeping because pitter patter of the rain puts me to sleep.
Well that's it for now my sweet friend. See you later Bee.
