Well okay yesterday is over and I am much better today. Sorry for that "debbie downer" post. I'll admit I had two drinks when I wrote it and I don't do that often. I was just bummed out but no more.
I had major errands to do and did manage to get everything done. It seemed like whenever I did one thing something else needed done like while I was on my way to the bank the buzzer came on in the car that the windshield fluid was low so that meant a trip to WalMart for that and I actually put it in by myself! Sarge would drop over if he saw me do that! Ha ha. So let's recoup, I put my own gas in this week too and drove myself to Miami and back. I am seriously growing up. Finally.
Tonight is poker so I have refreshments to do today and it's still too cold for me to swim so I'll have plenty of time to do it. Then tomorrow my MahJong girls are taking me to lunch and then the (self appointed) mayor (of the pool) and his lovely bride are taking me to dinner. Nice, huh?
Oh, something I forgot to tell y'all about me going on a date. Chuck and I have that app "find my friends" so I tell him when and where I am going and he tracks me while I am out and I text him periodically when it's not obvious so I do feel safe and I will only go to a public place for now unless it's with someone I know. So don't worry, okay? He's like my mother hen really and I love him for it.
Guess that's it from me today. Have a great Tuesday y'all. I will too. For sure!
I wasn't quite as pampered a wife as you but my ex-husband's jaw would drop if he saw much of what I do nowadays or have done in the past 20 years since divorcing him. srsly.
ReplyDeleteI only have a glass of wine on days that end in Y. Two if you twist my arm. ;)
big hugs my sweet and funny friend xoxo

Very smart to have Chuck as your guardian. Very smart. You just can't trust folks these days, scary world we live in.
ReplyDeleteHappy election day, or aka no more phone calls and mailers for you, I hope.
I wonder why you guys ever have elections. It doesn't make any difference because the two parties will always bicker and fight against each other and nothing is ever done, just like in Canada. The difference is that we have three or four parties that fight with each other. I guess that's what they call democracy.
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad that you are feeling much better. Chuck takes care of you in Florida and I do the same in Canada. The only difference is that I'm only 1000 miles away. Ha,ha,ha.
Have a fantastic day my wonderful beautiful friend. See ya.
Paul
You should never apologize for having a down day. They just make you human like the rest of us.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on filling your car with fluids. I've been putting gas into mine for a long time but have never done the other.
I'm so glad you're feeling better about life today. And whoohoo for doing all that stuff by yourself. I have found that there are things I don't particularly WANT to do myself, but when I do them and am successful at them, it gives me a real feeling of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteI love that Chuck can keep up with you when you're on a date. That is comforting to both of you, I expect! So keep kissing those frogs and hopefully a prince will turn up.
Sarge did everything for you. They don't call you the queen for nothing. It's okay that he did too because you liked it.
ReplyDeleteLove the way the Duck is watching over you. I wouldn't tell him about the mother hen part. I don't think he'd like that.
I'm so happy you're feeling better today.
Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and my best to Roche. ♥♥♥
Impressive - changing your own windshield wiper fluid and pumping your own gas, making the long round trip drive by yourself - you go girl! You're independent and capable and can do whatever you set your mind to with aplomb:)
ReplyDeleteSmart about you and Chuck doing the 'find my friend' thing like that when you are out on a date.
It is always smart to be careful.
(big hugs dear friend)
Sarge was always proud of you, and yes, he is probably smiling down at you...and wishing you a happy birthday.

the find my friends app from apple is great. I call it find my hubby. So I can gage when he will
ReplyDeleteBe home from work without calling and saying where are you. It helps me plan dinner . Wiper fluid, gas and drive that far ! That is great! Next will be changing your own wipers.
I seldom post but read your blog nearly every day. I think it might be good to remember what it was like when you dated as a young girl. I remember a whole lot of boredom, awkwardness, anxiety, and bleh experiences. Of course, there were some great ones as well. I married the prince in my life at a very young age, and seriously, if I were to lose him, I think I'd just look for friends. Men and women.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteGlad you're doing better
