I took this photo on my way home from the card room yesterday where I won TWENTY-SOMETHING dollars at canasta!  My all time record!  What fun!

Today will find me with the duck having a nice lunch somewhere (maybe Duffy's where I like the Mahi Mahi grilled) and then a quick trip to the grocery store, either Publix or the Walmart.  I have to get stuff for cake for his five year medallion award Tuesday.  Yes, there will be cake!

They this afternoon I plan on going to the pool to burn off some blubber calories.  It's been warm enough and the water is cool but it's okay once you get moving a bit.  It's kind of hard to get in though.  I do like it warmer.

I have heard so much about the Netflix show House of Cards that I started watching it.  The first episode was a bit slow at first but boy howdy did it ever get good.  I am about halfway through season one.  I love it when I find a new show that I like.  I don't know if you can see it anywhere but Netflix or not but if you can watch it you might like it.

Thanks for doing something nice for someone else yesterday.  Let's do it again today!

  1. I just restarted my Netflix. I think it's just awful that I have more than 250 channels on my DirecTV and goodness knows how many thigs available on my Amazon Prime and there are STILL times that I can't find anything good to watch. I was going to do a LOST marathon a few weekends ago and discovered that Amazon had removed it from Prime. I was srsly NOT happy. I also happened to get an email from Netflix asking me to come back... and they DO have LOST.

Gosh, I'm a spoiled brat, huh?

Congrats on the big win, Chuck's fabulous milestone and the most totally awesome excuse to have CAKE!

    big hugs xoxo

  2. Congratulations to the Duck. Way to go. I bet that you are very proud of him and if Sarge was here here would be beaming with pride. I'm going to have to go back to the old way of losing weight. I'm finding very hard but I know I've slipped a little so back to the original way
I see you like my cruise wall. I have one upstairs and I'm starting a second downstairs in my billiards room wall. I also have 8 full books of our cruises. I enjoy doing it. Well you beautiful wonderful friend, time to go. See ya.

  3. Glad you found and like House of Cards....I got hooked right away, too. The new season is available but I am saving it for a bit. Watching "Revenge" right now. Love Netflix.
So envious of your water exercise time. I did water aerobics for years and loved it. No pool now.
    Have a happy Sunday!

  6. It was a mostly beautiful day. We've been watching the last of the Olympics and the Daytona 500, well, when it was running. The rain sure messed that one up.

    Big hugs, honey...

  8. I loved the BBC. House of Cards that this show is based on. And I never thought Kevin Spacey could (as much as I like his acting) match Ian Richardon as the main character Francis Urquhart, But I have read he is wonderful in the Netflix reboot.
I must try to watch this sometime.

    cheers, parsnip

  9. I think HoC is next on my list of shows to watch. I'm on season 4 of Breaking Bad so I'll finish that up and move onto that. I heard it's good...and if Orange is the New Black is any indication of the quality of Netflix produced shows it'll be good!
