These photos are not retouched.  Straight out of the iPhone.  I never saw a yellow sky like this before.

I just couldn't stop watching it as it changed.  Incredible palate, if you didn't see it you wouldn't believe it.

This was the last one before it got dark.  You know I really do live in paradise.  I always say it but it's really true.

So I was able to get my hour in the pool before the weather siren went off, not much rain though, just a bit.  That's okay, I was already showered and in my gown and in front of the tv waiting for Big Brother to come on.

Today I'll go to the pool early and then go to the airport and pick up d#1.  I got lots of fresh fruit and vegetables to cook for her.  We'll eat super healthy.  Well I almost always do not but more so before her surgery.

I was reading an article that was so interesting.  I wish I saved it so I could link it here but it was saying that calories are unimportant, that the nutrition is much more important to consider.  The body used the nutrients to sustain itself and regenerate itself and heal itself.  Empty calories like sugar do nothing at all for you, just negative things.  I am not telling it correctly I know but it was really an eye opener for me.  I don't eat much sugar or white flour but I do eat some.  I'll try to have less.

So July is mostly over already.  I saw back-to-school stuff in the WalMart yesterday.  It goes by so danged fast!  Have a lovely Monday and a great new week.  I will too.

  2. Wow, totally awesome dude! Dudette? I've seen bright skies but only when we had a fire really close by. Gorgeous...
I guess the fire close to Palm Springs is getting some rain, fortunately!
I'll be praying for a successful outcome for D#1's surgery and recovery....
    Blessings~~~

I understand what you are referring to in the article, I've heard it before somewhere. I am playing catchup after my trip.... heading back to old posts...

  4. Oh WOW what a magnificent sky! Fabulous photos Bee.

I haven't had sugar in tea or coffee since I was 16 years old and I try not to eat anything sugary at all. Thankfully I don't have a sweet tooth so it's not too hard for me to do. Unfortunately I do like wine and there's lots of empty calories in that. :(

  5. Good morning Bee. It rained her during the night but this morning it's done. Good. That was quite a sunset you had. I was unable to get into my Fitness pal last night. It said temporary worked on. Come back in 2 to 3 minutes. Well it still was off after 5 hours but this morning it came on. Thank God. Say hi to D#1 from us. See you.

  6. Gorgeous skies - wow, never seen on with yellow like that!

And they are correct that white sugar and white flour are not good for anyone.
Substitute a bit more lean protein and a bit more non-starchy vegetables, and and weight will come off even more!

    ((hugs))

  7. Beautiful photos Bee. It is paradise. With your help, D#1 will do better. I gave my daughter Liz lots of information about eating healthy to get through some health issues. My mom's heart dr. used to say...don't eat white things...sugar ,white flour, pasta, potatoes. So I really do believe the sugar thing. Hope your week is a good one. xoxo, Susie

  8. Incredible skies! I hope to have a view like that one day.

So. OK... I made my blog open again. I'm trying to think they are "browsers", as you said, rather than creepy stalkers.

I've lost this weight before. 20 years ago - right before my divorce in fact. Back then I watched mostly fat, hardly any calorie watching. This time, I'm eating mostly "clean". Raw fruits and veggies. About 85-90% "clean". Much of it is organic. The rest is chicken and fish and just a teeny bit once in a while of bread or pasta. I probably have just about every fruit in my freezer you can imagine! I go through mixed greens like you wouldn't believe. This time I'm focusing on nutrition. And when I look at my overall numbers I'm amazed... I eat nearly 0 cholesterol and very high calcium, fiber and protein and all sorts of other good vitamins and minerals and antioxidants.

Am I sorry I bought a $600 Vitamix? Absolutely NOT! I wish I'd started when you started. I wanted to. I almost did. But I didn't. I'm doing it now though. Thank you SO much for inspiring me to live to be healthy! ILY!

    big hugs xoxo

  9. I've never seen a yellow sky before until now. Way cool.

I love being in Miami when we went there for our cruise. It was beautiful indeed.

Counting calories is indeed not the way to go. It's know what to eat to fuel your body appropriately. That's the ticket and sugar is indeed a waste.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from warm California. :)

  10. I also have never seen a yellow sky. But it was a beauty.

Did you know when sugar was first invented (grown, whatever) it was used as a candy for rich people in India. My old boss went sugar-free a few years ago. She lost over a hundred pounds and feels better than she ever has.
Have an amazing day in paradise!
