As I write this it's Friday evening.  I got up and changed the sheets and did laundry and went to the pool.  Then I went to the hospital.  She was walking and in her regular pajamas and smiling and happy.

And then the pain meds wore off and she was writhing in pain.  The nurse was very slow to respond.  The duck called Dr. Wacks and he took care of that pronto but it was too late, her pain was out of control.  My heart broke as she laid there sobbing.  Finally the nurse came and now her meds are automatic every 4 hours and she should be some better.

It's a long road ahead but we will get there and it will be fine.  But for now my friends, I am totally wiped out and going to bed...  Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers.  Y'all rock!

  1. Yikes, someone should have thought about medication long before then. I'm glad it's resolved. Bless her heart.

Have a terrific evening honey. Get some rest. Big hugs. ☺

  3. Ohhh, I'm so sorry she was hurting like that.
Inexcusable for the nurses to have let it go there. They certainly know better.
Glad her meds are automatically dispersed every four hours now.

((hugs to you, and empathy to D #!)

  5. Good grief! Glad they were finally able to get her some relief! When I had my tonsils out, the pillow became bloodied and my mom couldn't get a nurse to come and change the case, so she went on a hunt, found the linens and changed the bedding herself!
Truly hope the worst of it is over for her!!!

  11. Isn't it amazing how these nurses take such a long time to get to you when you ask such a simple thing when you ask pain pills. It's until you you're crying then they come to you. I hope she will feeling much better now. Now you my wonderful friend, take care of yourself. I don't want you to get ill. See you Bee.

  12. I think I mentioned yesterday that D#1 would be fine--until the pain meds started wearing off. As my surgeon said, "Do not ever refuse a pain med--you have to take them regularly to stay ON TOP of the pain." Boy is he ever right!!! Oh by the way--they CAN give pain meds more often if needed!!! Glad the Duck was there to take charge--you gotta be tough with these medical people sometimes!!!!! The Duck was being her advocate--YAY for the Duck!!!
