Monday again, already!

First up was a ride down the ocean.
It was totally beautiful!

Then on to the Ritz Carlton for the CARP event.  There were 32 tables of 10.  Every chair was filled.  The tickets were $150 each.  The donations were amazing.  I mean amazing.  I won one auction only.  There were many $10,000 donations.

One thing happened that totally mortified me though.  This photo is the duck and Bernard, the head honcho of the Fern House.  He was also the only black guest.  Someone asked him to bring them some water.  Can you imagine?  He was very gracious though.  I was lucky enough to be seated at his table.

I saw lots of people I knew from Palm Beach from my working days.  Same old crowd but they did open their wallets I must say.

Next up is the Fern House's fund raiser.  Hope they do as well!

  1. I'm glad it was an awesome fundraiser! I cannot believe how completely moronic people can be, though! I cannot begin to imagine how people of color put up with that kind of crap.

  2. Ugg I can not log into my google to leave a proper comment. Glad the fundraiser made lots of money. And I am appalled by the person who asked him to bring them water. Racist much? I am glad he is gracious as I might have tripped and " spilled" the water or had words. Lets hope that as the generations get older that this is no longer happening.

  3. No wonder you were mortified - what a complete gaff!

Glad the auctions went well for a worthy cause. :)

  4. Some people are idiots and can't help demonstrating it. srsly. The fact that Bernard could manage to maintain his poise and still be gracious demonstrated that obviously he has character and class and others are sorely lacking. How marvelous the fundraiser was such a success!

    And Chuckie Duck looks awesome!!

Jealous of that ocean view. I grew up on the ocean and sometimes I forget how much I miss it. Of course, that last winter storm wreaked havoc on the beachfront where I grew up... but still.

Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  5. Oh, how I wish I could be so close to the ocean. It is so re-energizing and cathardic to hear the waves and see the beautiful water. Bottle some up for me, please.

Glad you were able to enjoy the fundraiser with OCD and some great company.

  6. Sounds fun. Maybe the water requested wasn't being racist, they just wanted water. Who knows? What is carp?

  7. Bee, why was there only one black individual in the entire place and that person that asked Bernard to get the water was racist. How ignorant. It seems that you were with a lot of $$$$$ people. It was a very successful fundraiser. Chuck will do well in his. Have a greata day my thoughtful friend.
