Boy my hair has gotten long fast! I'm getting it cut on Friday. Hopefully. Yesterday I won eight dollars at canasta and lost forty-three at poker so I'm even. I like it when I'm even.
Today I get to see my MahJong gals. I sure will be glad when this election is over no matter who wins. They are so far to the left of me sometimes it's hard to stay such good friends. But I will. Somehow.
Then I hope to get back in the pool after the game today. I do like to go later in the day when the water is warmer. And I will have my camera. Just in case. You know.
I am trying to think of things to make for dinner that are delicious, low cal, low fat, and I am not tired of making. Maybe on Friday I'll go to the store and just walk around and try to get new ideas. I don't like to have much more than 350 calories for a dinner and I like a lot of food on my plate, not a tiny bit. What I usually do is bulk it up with steamed veggies but I still need some new ideas. Any you might have are appreciated. I bought the 99/1 ground turkey, maybe I'll make a meatloaf with it. That would be good for several meals too. Good idea I just had there!
You know that nekkid woman at the pool reminded me of Sarge. He retired a few years before I did and one day he called me at work and told me there was a topless woman on the balcony across from ours. I asked him if it was that blonde woman and he said he didn't know, he didn't look at her head. Gosh how I miss that man!
Have yourselves a lovely Wednesday. I will too!
He didn't look at her head... bahahahaha!
ReplyDeleteI recorded the debate and watched about 2/3 of it when I woke up. I can't wait for this to be over.
I bought a little 8 pound turkey last weekend. The little bugger is still frozen! We probably won't have him until Friday. I can almost smell him roasting now.
Have yourself a lovely day! big hugs xoxo
Hey well done you with the wins! Coming up with new ideas for meals is not easy is it? I love the story about Sarge. x
ReplyDeleteSarge was one in a million... Always ready with a quick wit.
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch the debate. You know, that one guy who lies thru his teeth? Well, he makes me so mad I can't handle it anymore. If he's elected I'm gonna head for the hills. And you know which guy I mean.
Your mermaid doesn't sound very fetching at all! Yuck. Maybe her marbles are loose and rolling around in her noggin - or she's European. Well, they like that nudie stuff. Snort...
I can very much relate to the bored with dinner sentiment. Have you tried the Sparkpeople Recipes? www.sparkpeople.com/recipe. I bought the book, but lent it to my Mom before I could make anything in it. But boy is it full of great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI literally LOL'd at Sarge. I can see that happening, totally. My PopPop was the same way. But so honest about it, you can't help but still love 'em for being BOYS! :)
You know Bee, that comment that Charlie said about that boob lady would have been my answer. Who cares about her face when there are boobs to look at. As you can see, I'm a boob man.
ReplyDeleteYou are looking fantastic my lovely friend. That photo of you is wonderful. What have you done to yourself? Oops, I know you lost 70 lbs. I'm so excited to see you when I arrive on the Breeze. Not much time left. See you then.
Paul
Bee, You made me laugh today...with the story about Sarge. When we were in NYC..we saw the naked cow girl...with stars painted you know where..all I can say is, I sure was glad she had a guitar to lay them on.:):) xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteBuongiorno!!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat answer from Sarge!
I knowyou miss him, he had huomr and ironie, and was a clever gentleman!
Have a lovely MJ day...no politics at board, please!
Big hugs, honey!!!
Here I am again hoping to be able to type in the comment box without having my computer stall... It seems to be working this time! So what was my comment?... Oh yeah, I was saying I thought it most hilarious that Sarge had called you to tell you what he saw. I find that very funny. A few men I know would do that, only a few, good and funny men.
ReplyDeleteI'm no help in the creative food department, I'm in a schnitzel rut right now and I'm sure that doesn't come up on your WW radar. We're eating lots of squash and broccoli right now, the cauliflower has just become ready and we'll be eating lots of that, in several ways. Do you like sauerkraut or pickles? I mean the real kind, fermented not vinegared? I can't believe how good my pickles make me feel. Like super woman.
Bwahahahahahaha on Sarge. Well of course he didn't look at her head. Why would he? Bwahahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteThe meatloaf sounds really good and everyone loves meatloaf.
Have a terrific day honey. :)
Ha-ha-ha, Sarge was the best! Of course you miss him. How could you not? He was your soul mate for 44 years, and that's a lifelong emotional attachment.
ReplyDelete((hugs)) I like it when you share memories about him. How I wish he was still here! Do you mind me saying that? I know you miss him more than I ever could.
Unless I read wrong, you said that you won eight dollars at canasta but lost forty three dollars at poker. How is that breaking even? I mean, I like your accounting because then I'd always be in the black with building my house, but...:)
Turkey breast burritos:
Low fat burritos (100 cal per flour tortilla)
1 package ground turkey breast
1 package powdered seasoning sauce mix of your choice - taco, pepper, etc.
1 big bunch celery, diced
1 small 8 oz. can rotelle diced tomatoes (original) (drain well)
1 small 8 oz. can vegetarian beans (drain well)
I mix it all together really well in a big glass serving pan, cover the pan with saran wrap, and put it in the fridge.
When I am hungry, I warm one tortilla on the stove, then take one big wooden spoonful of the turkey mixture, and put it in a small frying pan on low-medium, turning it regularly so it cooks evenly. I remove it from the heat when the pink is just gone and before it all gets white (and dry) and wrap it in the warm tortilla.
The whole refrigerated mix is usually good for a week to ten days, depending on the expiration date on the turkey breast:)
Loved that Sarge moment:) I miss that man, too.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
Big Wednesday hugs to you. I miss Sarge too.

I need to find some new recipes and get some food in the house. We've barely been home the last few months but after this weekend we'll probably be home bound more than not.
ReplyDeleteFYI . Not sure on the calorie count but cant imagine it is bad. I took my chicken breast and cooked it in a sauce tonight. You could use pre cooked chicken or baked. But I out a little onion and garlic on a pan with equal amounts of (1/2 c) low sodium chicken broth and Apple cider. A 1/8 t of apple cider vinegar, A t of honey and a splash of Worcestershire. (did a pantry thing). Covered chicken for about 20 min on med heat on the stove and then uncovered and let the sauce reduce. Very flavorful. But not sure on calories but yummy and light.
ReplyDeleteBee, you know I love the food at skinnytaste.com, and she gives the WW points on her excellent recipes. The other day I made the cauliflower here: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/10/garlic-roasted-cauliflower-with-toasted.html#more .
ReplyDeleteI got a small head of cauliflower and adjusted the recipe, and served it as a main dish since cauliflower is a complete protein. It was so good!
I also made the pasta at http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/09/baked-pasta-with-sausage-and-spinach.html . It had so many servings that I had dinner, froze some for us, and froze some and gave it to my sis who was recovering from surgery. We all loved it!
That shade of blue is your color!!!!! That's my buddy Sarge! Hubby's the same way -- distracted by any sort of boobage.
