Saturday stuff in paradise...

Yesterday the pool was just about perfect.  Had it not been for wrinkly old man with his radio it would have been the best ever.  I seriously could have stayed all day but enough sun is enough so I came back upstairs to get ready to go get my hair done.

Today I am subbing in the winter Saturday game.  They are lovely gals and I like them very much.  They  have invited me to play every week but so far I don't really want another weekly commitment, I like being called to fill in when needed.

I haven't lost any more weight in the past two weeks.  Seeing that same number day after day is hard but I am keeping on for sure.  I took a big bag of clothes to the Goodwill yesterday.  Some almost new stuff in there but I want things that are too big for me OUT of the house.

I can't seem to light on a book I want to read right now.  I have started three and closed all of them.  I have visited the Kindle store for ideas, bestsellers, whatever.  No luck with anything interesting to me.  Someone recommended Canada.  I might try that.  Lately I have enjoyed two books, Gone Girl and Defending Jacob.  Any suggestions?

Hope your Saturday is totally tits.  I know mine will be!

  1. books... hmmmm... how about anatomy and physiology? that's what my brain is full of lately. :]

have you read the outlander series by diana gabaldon? it's SERIOUSLY a long read but so far i've made it through book one and started book two last week. her writing is really good, even simple dialogue to move the plot forward shows pretty considerable thought and talent.

  2. I have a very long list of to-be-reads also. I've also opened a few and set them down. They have to match my mood when I first start or I can't get into them. I'm reading Gone Girl now. It took me a while to get into that one. I'm still not sure I really like it and I'm about 28% in, according to Kindle.

I loved 11/22/63. Have you read it yet? It's Stephen King but not horror, or else I could never have read it.

Love your toesies. Mine have been nekkid for months.

Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  4. I'm loving your nail polish Bee, I have some a similar colour. You really have pretty feet. I hate feet with lumps and bumps and knarled toes - YUK!

    Pics of your hair please?

  5. Bee, I have read the other 2 books written by the same author as Gone Girl. They are also a thriller type story. Pretty good but not quite as good as Gone Girl, IMO.

  7. I second the suggestion for the Outlander series. I finished the first awhile ago, haven't had time to finish the second. But they are enjoyable.

  10. I enjoyed 'Oxygen' by Carol Cassella last year.

Stephen King's 11/22/63 was very different from his usual horror genre and very interesting. His 'if you could change the face of history, what would the result be' was very thought provoking.

But if you want something really creepy, try Jeffrey Deaver's "XO", or 'What Comes next' by John Katzenbach, or 'Creep' by Jennifer Hillier.

    And pretty toes!

Good to throw out the things that no longer fit. You've hot those weight plateaus before and then the scale drops two or three pounds. It's hard to be patient in the meantime but I know you, you'll do it, and then we'll see 72 pounds lost on the fitness pal button:)

    ((HUGS))

  13. I'm sorry that the wrinkly guy messed up your pool time. I'm guessing that you don't much care for his radio either. Some old people get weird. Not us of course. Just saying.

I'm curious to see how I've done during the bay cruise. I've not seen one scale so I've not weighed myself since last week. I've been ever so good. I've not messed with any of the afternoon food. I've only had salad at dinner. I've stuck to my healthy eating plan the entire time.

Have a terrific day. Big hugs. :)

  14. I'm just starting THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS - I've read good reviews of it. 11/22/63 was a great book. I also read 1906 by James Dalessandro about the 1906 earthquake in San Francisco. How about MAJOR PETTIGREW'S LAST STAND by Helen Simonson? Anything by Michael Connelly. THE PILLARS OF THE EARTH by Ken Follett is wonderful.

Hope you are having a great day. Big hugs, honey...

  16. Love the toes. Looks like they matched the dots on the toes. Someone mentioned Ken Follett. Pillars of the Earth was good. There's a new series he's writing. He just put out the second book in the series. The first one was Fall of Giants. It was good.
