Friday in paradise...

Yesterday I had a really hard phone call.  It was one of Sarge's classmates telling us it was his class reunion coming up.  They didn't know and the gal I talked to cried and cried.  I felt so bad.  His class was only 35 people and they all grew up together and went to church and sunday school together.  I left it to his brother to put something in the paper there (where he lives still) but I see he didn't.  I should have done it myself.  Rats.

Today is supposed to be nice in the morning so I shall swim early in case it's stormy again later.  Maybe I'll get to see the duck too.  That would be lovely.

I have a friend that needs a second hip replacement so I lent her Sarge's scooter.  I don't know what I am going to do with it yet but I'll figure it out.  In due time.

As you know Friday is my day off so I'll be out and about today.  Some fruit stand stuff and maybe Publix, we'll see.  Hope your Friday is wonderful.  Mine will be.

  2. Oh my. I bet that phone call was just awful.

I've already done my exercises this morning! Yes, I am feeling good about that! Still thinking about the gym... Hate the thought of going there in the wee hours of the morning before work by myself. They give members a key fob to let themselves in and out, 24/7. I have determined that I will at least check it out this weekend.

Enjoy your time with the duck. Tomorrow is my grocery shopping at Publix.

    big hugs xoxo

  3. Hey Bee, are you doing well this morning after that phone call? That must have been a serious call between the two of you. You OK?

Have a good time time with the Duck. I'm golfing this morning at 8:00. Early time for me but not for Mary Lou but I did get up before her. Ha,ha,ha. See you later.

  4. Bee, I am headed out to join my daughters at the pork festival in our town. Pork chops, tenderloins, pork burgers and all the street food you can think of. I am picky about what I'll eat, it won't be any smelling meats. I am hoping we can see all the art tent entries.
Hope you have a great swim ads some fun time with Duck. xoxo, Susie

  5. I got a similar call in June from one of Fred's classmates putting their class reunion together--she said every e-mail she sent to his address came back. Hard for us and for them. Like Sarge, my class was small (32) and so was Fred's (35). We knew most of these kids since the first day of kindergarten all through school--went to church together--all of it. It's like losing a family member when one of us dies. She will let everyone in the class know and you might get a call or two or a note from one of the classmates, but it will quiet down.

  7. I think a Bee-line works well here: Buggers, just buggers.

    Yes, that seems about right.

  9. Sounds like a tough phone call but that is because people care. I know Sarge's classmates will join us in missing him. Hope today is better and that you enjoy your pool time and lunch and fruitstand shopping. And have a good weekend. Hugs!

  10. Buggers indeed. I remember how Sarge would post about his class reunions and how much he loved going and seeing everyone again. He's going to be sorely missed by them and then some.

Enjoy your day off, I'm on one myself which means it's grocery shopping and catch-up-on-all-of-the-other-stuff kinda day. I'm thinking I'll take my mom to lunch tomorrow being as how I gave away the overtime shift I was going to work to someone else and am going to enjoy the time away from work instead. Lately work has been totally stressing me out so why put myself through eight more hours of it if I don't really have to? Exactly!

  11. I know that phone call was just as hard for you as the caller. Everyone loved Sarge...and still miss him. Extry hugs to ya. Hey, dick or I might need that scooter at the rate we are going! Sheesh.

Hope you get to see the duck. Big hugs, honey...

  12. Sandy said it well, Bee.

I miss Sarge too. It's like every time a new thing happens, a holiday, a birthday, a get-togther, an election, it hits me all over again that he's gone.

He made such an enormous impact with everyone who knew him.
Gone but not forgotten is so true.
Loved and well remembered is also still true.
    ((hugs))

That was nice of you to lend your friend Sarge's scooter.
And yet still another reminder. Ouch.

Hope you get in a nice swim, and get to see the Duck.

    ((hugs again))

  14. Miss Bee, I think you could still put something in that paper. I don't think that there are any time limits (you could always call & ask). Doesn't hurt to ask.

  15. Sending you extra hugs today Empress. I still Sarge's blog bookmarked, I think maybe I will go read his last post. I am really tired of all the political stuff I see everywhere, but I always enjoyed reading Sarge's view.

    I love you dear Bee!!
