bang, bang, bang, bang...

*she steps up on soapbox*   That's me banging my head on the wall.  I left that condo meeting and now I remember why I didn't run again for the board (after serving 6 years!).  Those poor people are so abused it's not funny.  They are hard working dedicated people volunteering their time and these idiots are blasting them with everything from the club (not any function of our board), not wanting the hallways redone (they are so awful), not wanting to spend any money and threatening to leave their condos if they get an assessment (so GO already).  No one even mentioned an assessment by the way.  They are short sighted and trouble makers including the doorman who told me on the way to the elevator that we shouldn't do anything with the club.  People it's not our club!  It's a country club that we are so lucky to have, so lucky it was bought instead of closed, they have no idea.  *she steps down, takes a deep breath, and considers having a martini but doesn't*

Whew.  If I ever go to another one of them slap me silly please!  And I mean it!

Now for today... lunch and canasta and some fun.  And swimming after.  Yesterday I went swimming early again, I like it early or later now rather than the noontime sun and heat.  The water is warm and I just love it.

Does anybody have any ideas to make my "bee" ring from yesterday get lucky?  I love it but when I wear it I lose!  Maybe something to take off it's pox.

I need to think of some new things to eat.  I have been eating chicken breasts for so long now I swear I think I'm going to start clucking.  I should check out a fish market.  I like fish.  And another trip to the fruit stand is in order too.  That'll have to wait until Friday though, I'm busy today playing cards and having lunch and swimming.  By the time I get done all that I'm about done for the day.  Cook dinner and get my pajamas on and some tv and computer time, that's about it for me.

What about Dan on Big Brother?  Man he has really got his game on now.  I am very impressed with it.

And that is all I know today.  Hope your Thursday is totally tits.  I know mine will be.

  1. Buongiorno!!!

You are right...short sighted people are a great problem for a civil life!

    Have a great Thursday!

  2. I so understand that. And what I love is that do people realize that if there is ever a assessment they have to pay that before selling . I am sorry people are stupid sometimes.

  3. Cluck! Cluck! Cl-Cluck!

Woman, haven't you been reading my recipes and seeing my meals? Variety IS important! Not quite as important as portions and points and calories and fat, but still very important. At least for me. Besides, you can't possibly get all of the nutrients your body needs out of just one meal, repeated over and over again. Losing weight is just part of it. A healthy diet means getting ALL of the food triangle in healthy proportions!

    *steps off soapbox*

I love you. :) big hugs xoxo

  4. Dan is going to win. The people in that house are being so dumb. He has a deal with everyone!

As for the condo...I feel for you. My HOA only has 41 units and the fighting, stupidity and nastiness is insane. Don't the people in your building realize if they fix it up, when the go to sell when you asses them, they will get more buyers?

  5. These short sighted folks are also the uninformed voters of this country. Stepping down...

    Big hugs, honey...

  6. Amen to that! Traveling Bells.

Bee, put your ring and a garlic bulb in a dark place (box) for a few days.
That should work. AND if its a RED box... even better.

    Have a great day!

  7. Hmmm, clearing a pox on the ring?! I can't wait to read those suggestions.

Sorry your building is full of inconsiderate, selfish people. I hope they don't get in the way of progress. Seems folks like that always do.

  8. Do you like lean pork? Pork tenderloin is a lot like chicken, it can be cooked in so many ways. Also Jennie-o turkey is yummy.
    Fuzzy hugs

  9. Bee, There are some job that if they did pay...the pain is not worth the torment. If your bee ring isn't lucky for you...then let the winner wear it a while.:):)
I just have to tell you Bee, you impress me so much. You have stuck with your diet and exercise. You are so strong. You have grit girl. xoxo, Susie

  10. Purify your bee ring by using sage. Burn some sage and pass the ring through the smoke. No, not kidding.

  11. What Barb and Sandy said. I agree. People are so intolerant anymore. It slays me.

I say don't wear your bee ring for a bit and you'll see if it has the pox or not.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  12. Love that Bee ring - maybe wear it on a different finger to break the "bad luck" streak? It sounds like the Board NEEDS people with common sense to attend their meetings...
Enjoy the warm pool and have a great day!

  13. I have a idea to me make the Bee ring win, put a small piece of paper with the name "Paul" in the back of it. With that you will always win, I hope.
Try a fish called Tilapia. Mary Lou & I love it. Its a white fish and you can bake it in the oven with whatever seasoning you want and I have some brown rice and bowl of any vegetables, some times two or three veggies. I know, I'm tired of chicken even though it's good for you. Did you try chicken wings? Here listen to me while it's you that is losing the weight and not me. Man am I silly.
Have a good day in the pool my lovely and intelligent friend.

  14. I think your observations about the condo board -- and the chronic naysayers -- are right on. Never let the facts get in the way of a preconceived notion, that's what a lot of folks say. I've never lived in a condo (and having been involved in condo association litigation I never will) but I've been to more than my share of public hearings that are just like that.

    Only different, of course.

    But just like that anyway.

  15. I won't comment on the condo meeting because people can be so difficult, but I do have a suggestion for something different to eat. Try cabbage rolls, or stuffed squash. You could make a big pot of them and then freeze in single servings. To make them leaner, you could use ground veal, lean pork if you eat that, or ground turkey instead of ground beef. Cook them in a tomato sauce.

WIth autumn in the air, I have a hankering for stuffed cabbage. Sadly, the family gobbles them up and I never have leftovers.

  16. Condo boards - and HOA boards in general - tend to have the biggest idiots causing them problems where effective solutions ought to be implemented instead.
    Grrrr!

  17. Bee. Just a reminder. Don't go to those meetings anymore. People just want stuff given to them. They don't want to spend it. They forget that once they're in place it's not ok to let things go to pot. That certain things need to be updated to keep the property marketable and protect their home values. We ran into that with our condo in Nashville. heck, our floor revolted and did our own renovation!

  18. Bee, so sorry those folks at the board meeting were so difficult. I had a meeting with my boss this morning, it probably went about the same way. Just is really involved in ACS and since I am Relay captain this year I will be attending some meetings. Sometimes our bank makes it very difficult for us to raise money for this, so I am pretty sure I will be venting about these things this year. I am going to do my best to raise a large amount and have lots of fundraisers. I am pumped up, hope they don't deflate me too much.

    Hugs!!

  19. I live in a condo too and I NEVER go to those meetings anymore. I use to until I figured out the people who go to them are really just the trouble makers. Man, your BP can raise about 40 points after sitting through one of them. Now days, I just go with the flow. They can do whatever they want and I pretty much just sign on the dotted line cause life is to short to be mad all the time or to let these people keep me upset. Its amazing people will pay 900,000.00 for a nice place to live and then not want to maintain it or keep things looking nice.
