As I opened the shutters I see there is almost no damage on the golf course. I remember when I did this in 2006 almost all the trees were laying on the ground. That was either Francis or Jean, I don't remember which, we got both of them close together that year.
I got a call from Comcast bright and early Monday morning asking if it was fixed, no, not yet. He said he'd get with them and see what is happening. In fairness since they were here on Friday we have had a tropical storm so I'll give them a pass on this one. I imagine there must be lots of outages and lots for them to be busy doing.
Next I got a call from a supervisor that wanted to know if anyone had changed the box(!!!!!). Sigh, I'm on my fifth box. Aren't there any records there? Anyway he said he'd be by at 2:00, fine. So he comes and tells me it needs rewiring. I know. I know. They'll be back to (hopefully) actually do the wiring on Wednesday at 5:00.
I did not lose power through the storm. I was actually really surprised as I usually do but it stayed. All I lost was the phone for several hours and then it came back by itself. The local news actually said to not step in water because there might be a snake or an alligator. Um, okay then.
So I already told you about the golf course I look at from my balcony is to go away. Well here is the rendering of what I should be looking at in the future:
I don't know that it will ever happen for sure but I sure wouldn't mind seeing this. I would also have full access to all amenities as a club member. For the life of me I cannot understand why so many people are so negative. Besides we don't own the land, the club does so if they can get all their approvals they can pretty much do what they want.
And so that was my day in paradise. Hope yours is lovely too!
Buongiorno!
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief, the storm was gentle this time in your town...I hope that it doesn't hit NO, as last time!
I hope that you don't get a "box" record, nor a bad view from your terraces!
Have a serene day!
Big hugs!
I bet you feel so good to open up the blinds. Nice to see that you all didn't get too much damage.
ReplyDeleteDon't get into that pool till you look for snakes or alligators ! You never know..........
The Square Dogs will come and protect you or at lest bark a lot !
cheers, parsnip
Well YAY for the light of day and no damage! And no stepping on alligators. :D
ReplyDeleteSo looking at the rendering, is the golf course going away and they're adding water features?
We're soggy but fine. Not much of a bother here at all, thank goodness. Have a lovely, non-tropical storm kinda day! big hugs xoxo
There may be alligators in the water?????? :0
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather improves there soon. x
So glad there wasn't much damage for the storm. Praying there won't be in LA and MS too. Hope the reworking gets done and fixes the problem! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteWonderful that you didn't lose power and damage was minimal!
ReplyDeleteStay away from those reptiles and amphibians and such.
Must be nice to open the shutters again and get the light back.

ReplyDeleteJust visited Chuck's guest-blog post ...
ReplyDeleteYou have to be so proud of that guy.
I am just sayin'.
Love-R
ps ... I keep forgetting to take myself off Gabriella's blog ... duhr. I deleted the comment and started over.
I figured that you'd open those shutters yesterday sometime. I'm glad that there is little damage and that you kept your power the entire time. That's a good thing. Now hopefully you'll be able to get back to the pool for your exercise that you love so very much.
ReplyDeleteLove the new look and yes it's their land so they can do what they want. Some folks just don't have a nice thing to say about anything. Bless their hearts.
Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)
Good to see that the golf course didn't have any destruction. I love golf courses even just looking at them is nice.
ReplyDeleteMary Lou received a phone call from a car company asking her if she has brought in her Cobalt. Talk about records. She hasn't had her Cobalt for years. We get these stupid phone calls from car places wondering about cars that we no longer have. I had one asking to bring in my car for an oil change. The only problem was that I have changed my cars twice since they called. How stupid.
Snakes and alligators in the pool, interesting.
This new picture that you should, what is it all about? Looks interesting.
Well I have to go now my lovely friend. See you soon.
Paul
People don't like change, pure and simple. You tell someone that where they are living is going to change (even though it probably won't impact them very much) and they go up in arms about it. Not much you can do about it really, especially as they don't have much say.
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad you survived the storm without losing electricity. I hate when that happens.
Retirementman, the same things happens to me also. I got a phone call and a post card asking that I bring in my 1993 Honda for an oil change! I have tried calling and telling them I no longer have the car, but they can't seem to remove me from their records.
ReplyDeleteHooray for no damage and no snakes or alligators! I try to avoid them as well. Comcast...bugger. You could write a book!
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
I think that will be a pretty view. I sure hope your wiring gets fixed. I know that's frustrating.
ReplyDeleteBee , Glad all is well...well except for the comcast . My gosh I bet you wanted to laugh our loud when the man asked about the box. They need to sent a crew and not stop till it's fixed. We had a good day here, but rain is in our outlook for this weekend, maybe lots if the storm hits and comes into the midwest. Apples have suffered from the daught. Hardly any on the trees.Take care, xo, Susie
ReplyDeleteComcast has no similar excuses here and it still is awful (and awfully expensive).
ReplyDeleteGood attitude on the new development though -- get the benefits that you can from it and then stand out of the way -- because they'd run you over anyway....
Cable seems to stink no matter where you are or live these days! I hope it gets cleared up soon. Change is good for the most part some people do not adapt well and have issues, lol. Have a great day, hugs!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you survived the storm with no damage. That's a blessing.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Isaac took it easy on you :)
ReplyDeleteNot a bad future view at all! I guess you can never please everybody.
Hugs from Ohio,
I.
I like the photo, it looks very nice to me. What all are they putting in? So glad that Isaac was kind to you.
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs,
Bobbi
Eeeek about the stepping in water thing! I hope that doesn't include the swimming pool!
ReplyDeleteComcast is unbelivable. Unbelievably aggravating. My empathy. If you charged them for your wated time, you could buy a new condo!
I like the view from your condo right now of the golf course, so I can understand why some people aren't happy about the proposed change. It's not bad, but it isn't asd pretty as what you have currently.
But if it was an eventuality, and the Club owns the land, then people have to know it's probably going to happen.
Hi Bee,
ReplyDeleteNo, Frances and Jeanne were in 2004, not 2006. Got your years mixed up. Very clear to me cuz that's when I lost my house!
