Thursday in paradise...

So yesterday was a lovely day, MahJong was very nice and fun, lunch was good, then it stopped raining and I was able to get in the pool afterward.  It was full to the top again too.

After about 30 minutes of exercise two women came down and got in the pool with me.  They were (are) French Canadian.  I know this because I talked to them and asked them if they were visiting and they told me that.  In English.  Then they proceeded to talk to each other in French the rest of the time I was there.  I tried so hard to be nice to them.  Then I figured their loss, I was done and got out and didn't try to talk to them any more.

Today is canasta and Thursday already.  The weekend is in sight.  And tonight is Big Brother.  It's okay this time, not wonderful but watching it gives me something to do in the evenings three nights a week so I watch.  Sarge always watched it with me.  It surprised me but he did.

Any of you that read his blog knew what a patriot and romantic he was.  Well here is something I bet you don't know.  He didn't say I love you.  Very rarely.  If I told him I loved him (which I did at least once a day) he'd say something like "me too".  But he showed me in so many ways just how much he did love me.  And he did that all the time.  I believe that love does not die when a person dies.  I can still feel that he loves me.  Don't ask me how but I can.  And that's all I'm going to say about that.

Hope your day is totally tits.  I know mine will be...

  1. Bee, it's easy to say... but much more difficult to show someone they love you. I know for a fact he loved you dearly. Actions speak louder than words. Sorry for being trite, but that's the truth.

BTW, the flowers in your photo are beautiful!

  2. Duck is the same way, so I totally understand... and I know his love will always be with me, just like Sarge's love still being with you. Makes me smile.

    Big hugs, honey...

  3. Love lingers, of that I have no doubt...
I have no proof, but when I look at old photos of me and my dad when I was but a wee lass, I feel his love all over again. It's very comforting to know that our love lingers...

  4. Me, too. As I told my niece Jennifer many years ago when she was just a little girl and very confused when her mother was divorcing her second husband... Love is a Verb. Saying 'I love you' is nice, but if the person saying the words does not ACT like they love you or make you FEEL like they love you, the words themselves just don't matter.

So it is no surprise to me that you still FEEL Sarge's love for you. Because he does.

Have a super duper day today! big hugs xoxo

    1. And the words "I love you..." are so easy to say. It's how we show our love. You and Sarge ... There are no words for the love you share.

  6. Makes perfect sense to me! Praying you can always feel that love.

  7. I'm the same way, I don't say I Love You to SD too often. It just feels weird. I'm also not physically affectionate as often as he is. But I do things to show him I love him and it feels much more natural.

  8. Very bitchy of them. I think it's rude to talk in another language in front of other people. In the USA, you should speak English. It's one of my pet peeves.

I'm surprised about that about Charlie. He so openly adored loved and cherished you on his blog in how he spoke about you / felt about you. And obviously made you feel loved by how many things he did in person too. Was it the way he was brought up, to not say those words?

Love lives forever in our souls. Of course he still loves you, and it makes perfect sense that you still feel it.
Charlie's body is not here now, but his soul is and always will have a deep connection to you.

The spirit world is only intangible to those who don't understand it:)

  9. I wonder was those ladies' English a bit limited as they didn't converse with you much? I hope that was the reason and not just ignorance, which is inforgivable.

Actions speak louder than words, so Sarge not saying he loved you wasn't a problem. I believe love lives on after death too. xxxx

  10. All of us that know you know that Sarge loved you beyond words. You could see it and feel it and his action spoke way, way louder than words ever could.

Too bad those women didn't include you in their conversation. Their loss is right.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  11. Ciao cara Bee!

I hope that the reason was the language ignorance...but "excuse" is not so difficult to say!
I think they have lost the opportunity to speak with a nice lady!
Sarge had lots of love until his last days, we understood it so easy!

    Have a great Thursday!

    Big hugs, honey!
Rain you sent is heading on Saturday, seriously!!! Thank you!

  12. I love you are three words to say but difficult for some people to say even thought they love you. Mary Lou hardly says thoughs words but I know that she loves me. She's like Charlie. Me on the other hand find the words easy to say and I say them and mean it. Maybe it's just the Italian in me. My father couldn't say it but we knew he loved us in many other other ways.
The two French Canadian were rude to speak French while you were there. That's the problem with the French unfortunately. Many are like that but not all of them thank God.
Mary Lou's outside cutting the lawn. That woman never seems to rest. I worry about her but she quite the lady. My dad when he was living mentioned to me how lucky I was to marry such a woman. He was and I know.
Time to go my lovely friend. I love you.

  13. I sort of like Big Brother this year. I think that they should have backdoored Dan when they had the chance. He is probably going to win. It is a great summer time waster-show.

The language thing is an issue here. There are at least six languages (english, French, Spanish, Hebrew, Portuguese, Russian) spoken by the parents at my son's school. The correct etiquette is that if you can speak English, you should speak English if Gringos are around. Most well mannered people know this. A few (like my BFF'S husband's extended family, love to speak Spanish when her family is around knowing that they don't speak Spanish) I think that they do it to be obnoxious! Those ladies at the pool were just being rude!

  14. some men just could never say those words, but it didn't mean that there was any less love in their hearts. My dad was the same way for years. - Mary

  15. I'll take actions over words any day of the week. I wouldn't worry about the other women in the pool. They'll be gone before you know it!
