Ocean glimpse...

You can see it better in this photo, it was a clearer day.

Well I got a new phone call.  Having lived in high rises for the past 18 years I have not been bothered by the door knocking Jehovah's Witnesses.  I don't mind anyone's religion, honest I don't, but I don't want to be preached to by others thinking their god is bigger than my god.  Anyway back to the call, it was one telling me that since she can't get into the building she was going to witness to me by phone.  Um, no, I don't think so sweetie.  Buh-bye.

Next up was the pool.  Remember the guy from the elevator?  Well here's what happened:

Him:  You really should swim instead of just jogging back and forth.
Me:  Yeah?  You think so you saggy bastard?  You just come out here and sit on a lounge chair and read books in the sun.  And you think you know more than my doctor and my physical therapist?  (I said in my head.)  Thank you. (I said out loud.)

So canasta got cancelled because one of the gals had to take her doggie to the vet.  I didn't mind though, I had a nice day and still had poker.  Didn't win but didn't lose too much either and it was a nice game.

There was finally an answer to the banana question yesterday, go to yesterdays's comments if you want to see it.  It was anonymous so I don't know who to thank though.  The nutrition changes but the calories stay the same.

Here's a nice low cal recipe from the duck.  Take a bag of slaw cabbage (you can cut your own but then it would be work) and spray your pan, add a bit of chicken stock and steam it and brown it at the end.  You can also add onion to this which I like.  Make it as crispy or soft as you like it.  It's only about 70 calories for the whole bag.  You can put a nice chicken breast next to this on a plate and slice a tomato.  What a lovely (huge) meal for under 300 calories!

So that's it from me today.  Hope y'alls day is tits, I know mine will be!

  1. Oh My Goodness, Jehovah's Witnesses.
I have a story that makes me smile every time I think of it.
When I was younger, one year the JW kept coming to our door. My Mum who was a very much a Lady, was nice to them but said we have our own church but they were so persistent.
One day my Mum was cooking dinner and as the rice was boiling over, there was a banging on the door that kept up and wouldn't stop. As she rushed to the door and flung it open she hears "Jesus Saves"
without skipping a beat she yells back "well he didn't save my dinner" and slams the door.... They never came back.
    Classic !

    Wonderful photo today.

    cheers, parsnip

  2. You were very restrained with the man at the pool! ;)

I usually tell people who want to convert me to their religion that I'm a Satanist - scares the hell out of them. LOL

  3. There is always one who thinks they know better than the doctors! I will have to try the cabbage and onion. I am always looking for new low calorie ideas.
I envy your lovely blue sky. We have rain yet again!

  4. Sounds like you practice what I use to preach to my niece and nephew when they were little... It's absolutely OK to think whatever you like; it's saying it out loud that will always get you into trouble!

Me? I don't always have that kind of restraint. :)

The recipe sounds good but me and cabbage don't get along as well as we use to, if you know what I mean. hahahaha!

Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  5. Buongiorno!!!
Will the "him" have an approch to you, so he speaks of the pool, only an argument!
You were polite...he will call or speak again to you!
    Thank for the smart recipe!

A wonderful glimpse, green and blue, earth and ocean, a paradise!!!
    Hugs, honey!

  6. The guy at the pool is probably trying to get friendly so he can ask you out for lunch!

  7. I've had a friend in Middle school who was JW. Thankfully she never tried to preach to me. S.D. is bothered by them, solely because whenever we pass their "churches" in our travels-the signs are always identical.

  8. Saggy bastard indeed. I just hate people like this. Mr. Know It All. I feel better now. You do what your doctor and physical therapist tell you to do. Good grief you've lost 60 pounds for heavens sake. You must be doing something right.

I would have hung up on that person too. Religion is a personal thing. Period.

Okay on the banana. I'll remember that.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  9. The conversations in our heads are WAAAY better than the ones out loud. Just sayin'...

  10. I see what you mean about ocean 'glimpse' -- I blew the picture up and squinted and I saw the darker blue line below the sky on the other side of those buildings and what-not. That was it, wasn't it?

I did go back to check yesterday's comments last evening and saw the answer. I'm not sure if I buy it, but what the heck do I know?

  11. I love your "thoughtful" response. I do that all the time too. If someone pushes me long enough and hard enough, the words sometimes are uttered instead of just considered.

The final straw for me on JW visitations (I had always tried to be polite while saying no thanks) happened when they showed up on Christmas morning. I don't mind what you (generic you) believe or how you observe or don't observe a holiday, but to go through a neighborhood on Christmas morning was too much for most of us. I don't even answer the door any longer.

  12. Wow...that sounds good and is certainly easy!

Big hugs from hawt TN, honey...

  13. Saggy bastard, now that is funny!! Got to remember that one on our next cruise.

    Big Hugs,

you know i love comments, don't be shy! and if you are a spammer that got through, buggers to you. get a life somewhere else!
