Friday in paradise...

Well, with some more Saharan dust tossed in for good measure!

Boy howdy did y'all make me happy yesterday with some new commenters and some old friends that I didn't know were still around, thank you so much!  Apparently the thingy went missing for a few hours though but it is back now.  Y'all rock!

Are you watching the Olympics?  I guess that's a dumb question, everyone is I suppose.  There are a few things I like to watch.  I think I'll pretend I'm in an Olympic event in the pool today.  Synchronized water jogging with a noodle.  I might even award myself a medal.  Maybe a solid gold plastic medal and I might even wear my tiara when I present it to myself.

Oh hell's bells, the fish oil seemed to have kicked in again.  Hang on, it might get rocky!

I'm going to the fruit stand today I think.  I can't get in the pool until later in the afternoon (well I can but I don't want to) because this guy brings his grandson (which would be fine but he's an out of control brat).  I like mornings or later anyway and they go in the middle of the day every Saturday.  I'm learning people's schedules now.

Oh, I've been put on swimsuit shopping ban now.  I have six.  Sigh...  And four cover-ups.  And two beach towels.  And that's all, oh and one purple noodle.  And that's all.  Oh, and water shoes, two pairs of those.  And I swear that's all.  Gosh dang, a gal buys one or two little things and she gets herself on shopping ban.  Buggers.

Don't tell but I figured out something.  If I get rid of something every time I buy something no one will know.  Shhh.  Kind of like an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth one in and one out.  What do you think, will it work or will I get busted?

I make my own salad dressing.  You probably wouldn't like it but I do.  I only use 2 teaspoons of olive oil and 3 tablespoons of vinegar and some grey poupon mustard to emulsify it and that's it.  This is 3 servings so it's really only about 35 calories.  Also if you shake your salad you can use much less dressing.

As I have been watching all the goings on in London on the tv it brings back so many memories.  Sarge and I went there for 10 days some years back and I'm seeing places that we visited together and it was such a lovely trip.  And I think the Queen's hat was totally tits!

So you'll have to excuse me now, I have to go make my medal.  I'll take a photo for you.

  1. Your salad dressing is the best one ever. I make it all the time it is called "Mum's Dressing" in my house.

I don't measure like you and that is why your losing weigh faster than me !

Bee, some of your last post are bringing back so many memories.
Friends where in France in the 60's they where in a small cafe and ordered a salad. The waiter bring a salad dish full of greens and stuff. They sat there and just looked at it ?
He came back flipped it out on a dish in the bowl he put in mustard, vinegar mixed it up added the olive oil tossed in the salad and served it. They loved it and taught me how to make it all those years ago.
It is my favorite dressing and I use it for everything.

You always have the most interesting posts !

    cheers, parsnip

  4. Well, I own 2 suits and they are both dusty. One is old and one has never been worn. :) I do love those noodle thingys though. My neighbor has a bunch of them in every color imaginable. And chairs with drink holders.

I am already stuck on sticks of butter. bugger. This too shall pass. I know it will. But still.

Have fun making your medal! bahahaha!

    Big hugs xoxo

  6. That salad dressing sounds yummy! And if you are swimming every day, six bathing suits is not too many! :-) anything less might be boring! Enjoy your day, my friend. I will be watching the Olympics most of the day, every chance I get!

  7. Good morning! My new scale arrived so I can finally start counting butter sticks! Had to start BP lowering medicine though. Hopefully not for long. I don't want to take medicine for the rest of my life. Hope you get your swim time in minus the little brat!

  9. I like your one in-one out closet plan. I need to do that in my house. It seems like for every 10 things that come in, one goes out. I'm starting a major cleaning spree/purge today before the boys come home. Goodwill is going to be loving me!

    Have a great day.

    Go USA! (and go Gators!)

  10. I really enjoyed the opening ceremonies. I'll imagine you as one of the swimmers when that event comes up. Good for you for finding something you enjoy and will stick to. I have a new suit that I bought for our Hawaii trip this past January that still hasn't been worn. I need to get over myself and get to work on what I need to do.

  11. I'm not watching the Olympics. I just can't seem to turn on the television to watch anything. I'll read about it in the paper.

You'll get busted if the person that's putting you on the ban reads this post. Just saying.

What wonderful memory about you and Sarge seeing London. That made me smile.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  12. Good Afternoon Bee!!

I didn't post yesterday, but I am from Dardanelle AR. We are basically half way between Little Rock and Fort Smith. I grew up in Northern California and was born in Hawaii. I am thinking I would really love to do a British Isles cruise since watching the Olympics. I love watching it all and the great spirit that comes with it.

    Big Hugs,

    Bobbi

  15. Hi Bee! I notice today it says I am from London, Ontario, Canada. I think sometimes it says Guelph, Ontario, but it is just me . . Dee . . from a little village in between those two cities.

Only six swimsuits, Bee? I think you need one more so you have a different one for every day of the week. Haha! Now, me . . . I have one and only get a chance to wear it about once a year.

I loved watching the opening of the Olympics. It brought back great memories of times spent in London for us as well. I did find the (pretend) Queen jumping out of a helicopter a bit bizarre.
No wonder she seemed solemn last night. LOL

    Hugs
    Dee

  16. Hi Bee,

I'll be watching the Olympics from Eureka, California. My favorite things to watch are gymnastics, swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, and of course the medal ceremonies - from all the countries. I hate it when they only show the ceremonies where Americans are on the podium. I bet you and your blog readers hate that too - they all seem pretty smart!

    Hugs,
    Cigal
