Thursday in paradise...

Thursday, the weeks do fly by don't they?  Today is canasta and lunch with some girls.  It's a good day here.  It's been pretty stormy so I haven't been in the pool for several days.

My new chairs and table from Home Depot have shipped but I can't track them yet.  Maybe later today I'll be able to see when they'll be here.  Then they'll have to be put together.

I'm hungry.  I mean a deep hunger that my little meals won't fix.  I need something solid to eat.  You know, like meat and potatoes or something like that.  I need to find a way to satisfy this hunger before I go into complete pig out mode.

This has never happened before and it is scaring me.  Any ideas?  Last night after MahJong I fixed a Smart Ones weight watchers meal and added steamed broccoli and carrots to make it bigger.  It didn't work.  I was still hungry.  I had sugar free jello.  Nope.  Didn't do it.  I drank water, lots of it.  Didn't help.  I want food.  Buggers.  So I did the only thing I knew to do.  I went to bed early.  But I did not go over my 1200 calories.  Nope.  Not gonna' do it.

Hope your Thursday is totally tits.  Mine too...

  1. I'm no dietary expert, but are you getting enough protein?

  2. I agree with Jim...
    Are you getting enough protein?
1200 a day is really hard. I am not following my plan that well lately, new meds and I'm kinda messed up but I am eating about 1400.
Some time if you stay at the same # your body goes in to starvation mode. So add a little lean protein and see if that helps.
    Just an idea.
Maybe you will get over this little hunger hic-cup ?
    Loseing weight is so hard.

    cheers, parsnip

  3. Well, here's what I found was true for me. When I had a deep, not to be ignored craving like that I just had to give in to it. I'm not talking about a casual craving, I mean a seriously deep craving. If I didn't, I wound up eating more of the little snack-y things and consuming more fat and/or calories. A caved-into-craving now and again is good for your metabolism.

Don't make your metabolism mad at you!

I also richly rewarded myself whenever I reached a new 10 pound plateau. I would stop in at the Publix Bakery on the way home from church and buy THE most decadent thing they had in the case!

Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  5. When I was on Weight Watchers they use to say if you want something have it or you'll go crazy. Go and have a small piece of cake, not a big one but a small one and maybe that will kill the craze of wanting to always want to eat.
I'm leaving right n ow to have breakfast at MacDonald's with my cousin Dan. See you.

  8. Miss Bee
When I first went on my return to health regimen, I tried 1200 calories and found it too restrictive and not enough calories. For me it was better to up the calories to 1500-1600 and walk more.gotta have fuel to burn to lose, and I am sure you do this but eat the biggest meal first, it'll burn off through the day.

Here's Abby giving you her fuzzy paw hugs

  9. You can have meat and potatoes, just make them healthy.

Enjoy your day today. It's rainy here as well.

  10. What Jean said honey. Find a lean cut of meat that you like along with a baked potato with all the things you like and enjoy yourself. Tomorrow is another day.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from sunny California. :)

  11. Bee, You did the right thing...it's been said to drink more water, because most times we are thirsty not hungry. But oh I know what you mean...wanting something more. Maybe more salad and spices. I am in your corner Bee...You are amazing. xoxo, Susie

  12. Popcorn? It's pretty filling and not high in calories (unless you drench it in butter, which is always tempting...)
String cheese is another good snack, btw. Protein is good. Sometimes I just have a "hungry" day!
    Hugs and hang in there!

  13. I'm having really hungry days around my period. Nothing helps! I hate that! I go to bed early on those days, too. But sometimes I'm bad and eat more ;) Sorry for all the TMI :)
    Hugs from Ohio,
    I.

  14. I would have gone to bed as well! That makes you forget about food.

1,200 calories a day sounds really difficult to maintain.

I wish you all the best as you continue this journey. ;-)

  15. One can only eat so many cucumbers. If all else fails, have a steak and baked potato. Once in a while does not break your new good habits and brings your body a little satisfaction.
