Some more of my art work.

So today I am going to get a hug (or two) from TCD!  He texted me that.  D#1 has to see him so I am going with her because she won't be able to drive with the medication (like I wouldn't go anyway!).

Her birthday is in a week so we celebrated last night at the duck's, he even made her a cake.  I cannot believe I have a child that is going to be (I can barely type this!) fifty! Of course I had her when I was five.

What a lovely time we had last night.  The duck made a wonderful healthy stir fry (not really fried, no oil) with lots of veggies and then there was CAKE!!!  It's both of their favorite cake, yellow cake with a layer of peanut butter and then chocolate frosting on top.

So today she is having work done on the teeth and then she is planning on driving home afterward so it was a very short visit but at least we got to see her.

Have a wonderful new week.  I will too, for sure!

  1. I know what you mean about having a fifty year old child. My niece turned fifty recently, too, and it seems like just a blink of the eye when we were playing hide and seek. When did they/we grow so old?

Your pottery has a whimsical flare that I like.

  2. Happy Fifty is Nifty, Cat! I hope you enjoy all year long of your Birthday Season. As I recall, 50 was a really good one. And hooray for time spent with dear ones and a hug or two from TCD today!

My Dad absolutely did not believe that I turned 60 last year. For that matter, neither did I, but still. Today is Dad's first doctor visit at the VA. He had his orientation with the nurse last week. I finally managed to convince him to let me sign him up for his VA Benefits so he can at least get his meds for free. After his appointment we're meeting him and Mum for lunch for yet another first for them... Captain D's. I also can't believe they've never eaten at a Captain D's.

The weather is still being disagreeable but it is rumored that we'll be in the 70's so a little cloudy and rainy is an improvement, for sure.

Hope your day is nothing short of spectacular. big hugs xoxo

Okay, I'm not much for cake, but that cake sounds mighty good.

  8. The cake sounds delicious. Was the layer plain peanut butter, or was the peanut butter mixed with something first? I want to try to make this.
