If you knew Sarge you knew he loved to cook and especially breakfast!  Well I saw this and thought how much he would have loved trying it.  He loved to cook so many things in the waffle iron!  Cornbread, cake, grilled cheese, even (gasp!) waffles!  Anyway I thought this was a fabulous idea and thought I'd pass it along to you.  Have you cooked anything lovely in a waffle iron?  The duck makes his breakfast in one sometimes, he uses croissant refrigerator rolls in one and puts an egg on them as a sandwich.

My bruising hasn't changed today and I think I am slightly more swollen but not worried, I just need to lay back, relax, use ice, and pamper myself a few more days.  I really thought I'd be out today but sadly, no, not yet.  Soon though!

My GGF is coming to see me later today.  He needs help with his resume' and that is something I CAN do.  He is a CNA and such a caring person I know he will be fabulous to whoever is lucky enough to get him as their aide.

That's it from my world today y'all.  Hope your day is lovely!

  1. I keep telling you things get going at the end of week two and then get better each week after that. Honest. When you reach the six week point, you'll be looking really great and that's just the beginning. Three to six months and you'll be fabulous. It takes time.

Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and my very best to Roche. ♥♥♥

  2. Glad you are holding your own and relaxing in your recovery. I could really see progress in yesterday's photo and think you are amazing for having gone forward with your plan.....
Great ideas for the waffle iron. Alas, I have only ever made waffles in mine but am now thinking of other delicious things we could create. Thanks!

  3. I've seen all kinds of stuff cooked in a waffle iron besides waffles. I just don't have any more canbinet space for large, seldom used appliances. I haven't even used my mini pie maker in a while, and you know how I love mini pies! Or all pies.

I think you're doing GREAT for just 1 week out. Waiting is something I am not great at... but I am still waiting for my cruise to be booked. sigh.

Have fun with GGF! big hugs xoxo

  5. Yes, be quiet.
I know you are an on the go person but resting and letting the body work on healing is better than going out and about. Energy need to go towards repairing.
I am sure you are looking wonderful !

    cheers, parsnip

  7. I have fond memories of my mother making waffles but I haven't made any myself for 50 years. Looks like fun. I don't know what a GGF or a CNA is, but I hope you had fun with him.

  8. Hubby is an egg man. And he rocks scrambled eggs and fried spam. I allow myself a wee bit. Too salty for me, but a little I can handle. Hang in there. You'll be gorgeous in no time!
