The above photo was taken last Christmas.
The duck and I went to the cemetery yesterday
but the wreaths won't be put out this year
until next Saturday so we'll have to go back
if we want to see them this year.

This photo was taken yesterday though.

We also had a nice lunch and then a different Publix, one nearby the cemetery.  It's getting cool here again.  Finally the water got warm again and it's going to drop again.  Oh well, it's not snow and we'll get by.  I'll just have to walk instead.

I volunteered to make a large tray of lasagna for the Fern House Christmas party next Monday night.  There is always so much food but I feel better when I contribute.  That's the night Santa will give out the toys too.  There are 42 children signed up to receive them, children of some of the men living there.  It's a lovely party really.  It's going to be very crowded though, I think he said there were 280 coming for dinner this year.  He said next year he is thinking of splitting it into two parties because it's gotten so big.

I don't have anything on my calendar today.  A whole day off?  No activities?  What shall I do?  I'll find something for sure.  Perhaps I'll brave that new outlet mall for some retail therapy, who knows?

Have a great day y'all.  I will too, for sure!

  1. Good morning Bee. You look very beautiful in your red dress. If Charlie was there, he would be so very proud of the way you look. He's probably looking down with a big smile on his face.
Nothing to do today. Oh my goodness. Is this the first time? Ha,ha,ha. Have a very easy day my wonderful friend. See ya.

  2. Lovely photo of you. You always rock the red! Too bad the wreaths weren't out yet. They are very appreciated.

I know you will find something to do today. You always manage.

    Big hugs, honey...

  3. Having the wreaths by each headstone is a lovely thing to do, both visually and emotionally.
You look very pretty in your red holiday sweater - great color on you!
I miss Sarge. I never met him in person, but I miss him. What a strong positive impact he made on everyone who read his blog, and all those who met you because of it too.

They will be glad you brought your lasagna, it is very kind of you to help.
The kids will be so happy with their presents, and the 280 people grateful to have a hot meal.
(blessings to you & the Duck)

    Hugs

  4. Red is your color. Yes indeed.

I'm glad you had a great day with the Duck. And I'm sure you had a nice conversation with Sarge Charlie too.

  5. I think breaking the party into two next year is a good idea. It will be easier for the staff to manage and may provide a nicer experience for the attendees. Smart Chuck.

  6. Red loves you. srsly.

mmm.... Lasagna. My mother is making her lasagna, meatballs and 2 kinds of red sauce in anticipation of my sister Lynda's visit the day after Christmas. She has to make it in stages and she freezes it. It takes a lot out of her these days.

The wreaths are very pretty. Hope you get to see them next week.

Dinner for 280? Da Duck is da Man. I wouldn't want to take that much on. 40 is my absolute limit. At least so far and I don't see me doing that ever again either. Final Answer. ;)

Have a lovely day off. Me? I just hope to make a dollar. big hugs xoxo
