This beautiful gal is Katerina and she is the smiling face that brought me breakfast every day on the last cruise.    Here she was choosing some earrings from the ones I made.  She was always happy, always smiling, and soooo sweet.  In fact every employee from the Captain to the dishwashers were smiling all the time.  The Carnival Ecstasy is a happy ship.  A very happy ship.  I cannot wait to go on it again!  It is immaculate and pristine and quite old really for a cruise ship in today's fleet, 1992.  It is so well cared for that it seems new to me.  I miss it!  It is much smaller than the newer ones but just quite lovely.  My favorite ship.

So the sun came back out in my world and all was right with the world again.  Today it is to be sunny and in the 80's so I shall be at the pool for sure.

I saw Marion Barry died, the three time mayor of Washington DC.  I don't know what he died from but maybe smoking crack?  Again?

You know I have made SO many pies from scratch with the most delicious tender crust ever but I haven't made one in over three years and I am actually nervous about making one for Thanksgiving to take to the (self appointed) mayor (of the pool). I don't know why either because I have made probably fifty apple pies but this one makes me nervous.  His bride is a wonderful cook.  Oh well, I shall make it and take it and it will be what it will be, won't it?

Guess that's it from me today y'all.  Have a wonderful Monday and I sure will too!

  1. I shall make ONE apple pie for Thanksgiving. It's my favorite recipe and I shall have one small serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a K-cuppa coffee. MotherDear will bake a Mrs' Smith's pumpkin pie aas she always does, which she loves, but since she's eating like a bird these days probably nobody will eat it. Again. Always too much food! *sigh*

Enjoy the warmth. Me? I hope for some lovely orders and it's for sure a Doctor and Dentis appt and more rain for here today. Fun times!

    big hugs xoxo

  2. Enjoy that pool! And don't worry about the pie,I am sure it will be delicious. Have a great day?

  3. I don't know where that question Mark came from. Have a great day!

  4. Don't be nervous Bee, it's just like riding a bike and you know what. You never forget how to do it. Maybe just better than ever. They will smile as soon as bite into that pie.
Have a wonderful and lovely day you brilliant gal. See ya.

  5. I am never nervous taking a dish to pass when it's a large gathering. I figure it will get lost in the sea of food and if it turns out bad, no one will starve and no one will dare ask who brought it. But taking a dish to a small gathering where the woman of the house is a gourmet cook will keep me up nights with worry. Your pie will turn out fine, Bee. It's not your first rodeo, as they say.

  6. Bee, I would love acruise about now. My gosh this weather is up/down/all around... I know you will be booking any time. LOL. I bet you still can cook lady. When I met Ted, I told him I could cook but it wasn't in the kitchen....dang it he fell for that. LOL Hope you have a wonderful fun filled week...oh I know you will, you are Bee !! Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  7. Hi Bee,
It's natural to be nervous after a 3 year baking hiatus! I bet even so, the crust will turn out beautifully and everybody will love it. Apple pies are always delicious!

(hugs and happy Monday to you)

  8. You'll do fine with the pie. It's something you never forget. Not to worry.

No pies for us. It's just hubby and I so it's an easy dinner. We're looking forward to it too.

Have a fabulous day at the pool honey. Big hugs to you and my very best to Roche. :)

  9. Your pie will be wonderful.
Happy to hear that the weather is getting better for you !

  10. Not to worry...your pie will be very good and very much appreciated. Have fun.
