I found this photo on the Internet while looking for something else and I would gladly give credit if I knew where it should go but this is the building Sarge and I lived in for five years as it was being imploded.

It was a great building and a perfect location right on the Intracoastal Waterway.  I walked along the water each evening after dinner.  From our apartment we could see miles of ocean and all of Palm Beach and of course the Intracoastal.

It was marvelous..... until it wasn't.  They did not do proper maintenance on the building and when you are anywhere near salt air not doing maintenance is death to concrete.  Sarge knew this and tried with all his might to get them to do it.  Nope, they didn't want to spend the money and believe me it's expensive.

But this was the result.  Luckily we sold about five years earlier.  That man knew what he was talking about.  In a hurricane a few years ago there were major problems and non repairable.  It is currently an empty lot waiting on development.

So today I have Andre' again and I saw him yesterday while I was at the club playing Canasta.  He told me two young girls were in the gym today and could not do sit ups at all.  Imagine that.  And I can do 80!  That made me really realize how far I have come.

Have a lovely day y'all.  I will too.  For sure!

  1. As usual, when I get off track, I go back and catch up on your posts. I'm still giggling at your wrinkle discovery! I lost 130# with my surgery and discovered wrinkles on top of wrinkles! Even when I was at 140 my upper arms could've slapped someone to death!
Love your hair in all the photos, but that last one really nailed it!!!!! Looks great!

  3. I can do 80 situps... not in a row, of course. Your life is so exciting. I'm pretty sure I've never lived anywhere that imploded.

Have another marvelous day! big hgs xoxo

  4. I couldn't do a push up if my life depended on it. I'll bet Andre` is really proud of how far he's been able to guide you. I think a lot of trainers would dismiss people in our age bracket.

Every place my husband and I ever worked is gone like your building and I'm talking huge employers who left town and the buildings torn down. Now, that makes you feel old.

  6. Yep, living on the coast is very expensive in maintenance. Very. And if you don't do the upkeep you'll end up losing the building. Too bad.

I'm so proud of you for all your healthy living. You've come such a long way. Good for you.

Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and my very best to Roche. ♥♥♥

  7. Wow, quite a picture! They should have listened to Sarge. Glad you got out when you did - yes, he knew what he was talking about there. (for some reason, though, images of duct tape and a plastic knife have come to mind...)
80 situps, way to go! I can do some but not 80 at a time. I need to work on that.
Have a wonderful day and weekend. Hugs!

  8. Sarge was very smart. Maintenance is essential, and it is heartbreaking when the are Boards that penny pinch and don't realize they are shooting themselves in the foot by doing that.

Yes, you have come a VERY long way. 80 sit-ups is wonderful, means your stomach muscles are strong and getting stronger and stronger, and this helps support your back as well.

many hugs and a happy Friday to you, dear Bee

  10. Bee, I have been saying your core strength is improving and that it important as we age. Sad shape some of our young people are in. You are right about the salt air. It takes it toll. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie
