Good morning from paradise.  Things seem to be going pretty good in my world.  My mother used to say "yeah, just watch some bas$$%rd come along and $#*# it up though".  We'll see.

Happy Veteran's Day to all the vets out there and the families too.  I know Sarge loved this day, 11/11, every year.  He always called my old boss (another Viet Nam vet) and they'd wish each other a Happy Veteran's Day every year so since he died I call and do the same in his honor.  It's tradition now.

Next up I have Andre' where he shall beat me up badly and I shall love it.  Then there is poker in the evening.  A pretty full day and if it gets warm enough I'd like to swim too.  The water is warm but the air?  Maybe, maybe not.

I hope you have a perfectly lovely Tuesday in your world.  Mine will be amazing.  I am sure of it!

  2. Happy Birthday to Chuck - a day late. My youngest turned 44 in August, and my eldest will be 49 next month. As you said, where the heck did the time go???
    Hoping for megabuck winnings tonight!
I never felt Veteran's Day as intensely as I do now until I met Sarge. We always put out the flag, etc., but reading his "fire and brimstone" posts really lit my fire!

  3. Happy Veteran's Day or as we call it here in Canada, Remembrance Day. I always thought highly of today but it wasn't until I met Charlie ( Sarge ) I really got the real feeling about today. I miss that guy a lot and I bet so do you. I'll be thinking of him and all the vets in both the U.S. & Canada. Have a wonderful day you heck of a woman. See ya.

  4. Bee, Thank you for being there while your Sarge served our country. It was hard for our service people to go overseas, but it would have been harder if their families had not been strong also. Enjoy your day. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. I thanked a good many veterans in my immediate life yesterday, beginning with my Dad and my very best friend(s).

Here's a lovely story that just happened... My dear friends M&P - a married couple who are both retired Air Force - M is a Purple Heart recipient and the sweet guy that always puts out all of the flags for every patriotic holiday here at the Swamp and is about as patriotic as Sarge was - how's that for a run on sentence? - went to the Home Depot for materials to build some training structures for their service dogs to train and exercise on. Y'all. Anywoo.... When the Home Depot guys discovered WHAT they were planning to do with the materials, THEY built all of it for them and then THEY delivered them and set them up.

    LOVE those guys.

10 points to Home Depot. (<----That'ssort of a Harry Potter reference)

Oh... And the store manager was thrilled with them for their kindness and she let them go deliver it while they were on the clock. Totally tits, right? Yes, indeedy.

Plus they told M&P that they love helping vets and gave them their numbers if ever there was anything they needed help with or if they knew of any other vets who needed help.

    Awesomeness.

Hope your day was just lovely. Mine was sooper dooper busy deluxe. Again. And more of the same today, no doubt.

    big hugs xoxo
