The "duck". Jean (a new reader) asked me about who was the duck. This is my son Chuck who from the time he was tiny was known fondly as Chuckie Duck, then shortened to the duck. See I am Bee, daughter is Cat and son is Duck. The trio.
Speaking of Cat I had a lovely facetime call from her again yesterday from London. She's on her way home, what a great trip they had. I am so happy they can do these things.
So yesterday the duck and I went to Red Lobster for lunch and while I was eating my salad something cut my mouth. I reached in and it was a birthday candle! In my salad! Cut in two but held together by the wick. I told the waitress and she brought me a new salad and they comped my meal which was nice but I'd rather it not have happened. At least it was a new candle, not a burned one.
Then while I was at Publix I saw they are carrying Kobe beef now. I bought some beef patties and buns for the (self appointed) mayor (of the pool) to grill for his lovely wife, himself, and me. Hope they're good. I don't eat much beef but this is very special stuff. I had it once in Japan and it was wonderful.
Today I have an appointment with my oncologist for my annual exam. I love that I am on annual exams now! I am not expecting any problems but she is very careful and I let her be because, well, it's my life and I love it!
Have a great Monday y'all. I will too. For absolute sure!
I never would have guessed who the duck was in a million years....given Roche` in your life. Your son likes a good guy to have in your life. Very nice family nicknames---Duck, Cat and Bee.
ReplyDeleteThe candle in the salad could have been worst. My brother was served a dead cricket in his one time. I can see how a cricket got in salad fixings but a candle?
Red Lobster is not my favorite seafood restaurant, or even on the list actually, but they do have good cheese biscuits. And candles, apparently. Ack.
ReplyDeleteI sure have enjoyed Cat's vacation posts this week. She and Marty have kept me entertained. And I love her new haircut.
Do you think I can grow mine out like that?
Bazinga.
Have a lovely day! big hugs xoxo
Great picture of the Duck! And I'm so glad Cat has had a great trip. Y'all are a wonderful trio.
ReplyDeleteThat candle thing is weird! I guess it is good that it was nothing worse, but still...how did a birthday candle get into a salad undetected? Oh, well, who knows. Enjoy your Monday!
A Candle, Oh my. At least they could have done was put that candle on a cake, light it and sing Happy Birthday to you. Then you could have blown that candle out.
ReplyDeleteI see that you explained the Duck. Amazing the Duck sits in the water while why the Cat is trying to swipe at it and buzzing around the two was a Bee. Ha,ha,ha. I feeling weird again.
Enjoy your day with your oncologist, your pool and the Kobe beef. I'm very happy that Cat enjoyed her vacation. See ya my gorgeous friend.
Paul
I wondered how many children you have--now I know--thanks. Do you have any grandchildren? Glad you didn't hurt your mouth more than you did.!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that the candle did not hurt your new implant! Yuck
ReplyDeleteYikes on the candle. My granddaughter loves Red Lobster so we usually go there once a year on her birthday. I love their salads. That's my favorite part of their meals. Not my favorite place to go either.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your doctors visit today, but I'm guessing all will be well. Yes indeed.
Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and my very best to Roche. ♥♥♥
Duck is so cute in that photo ! Maybe he is Prince Duck to your Empress Bee of the High Seas ?
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Ken loves Red Lobster and we had lunch there on Saturday. I have never had Kobe beef, but several Nashville restaurants serve it. I will have to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteBee, you are invited to my home for a barbecue anytime, but if you're bringing Kobe beef, you're invited a thousand times! What a treat! I'm glad your mouth is okay after the candle incident, and I'm glad I'm not seeing you on the news demanding bazillions of dollars. I know who you voted for.
ReplyDeleteLook at that handsome OCD! Glad you got to FT with Cat. I have also enjoyed their trip.
ReplyDeleteYuck to that candle! Bugger.
Sending big hugs from OR, honey...
Never had Kobe beef, in fact I've never seen it here at all.
ReplyDeleteOCD looks handsome in that photo. Doesn't fall far from the trees, I say. Both of them. I've never had Kobe beef. One of these days I'll try it. There's a huge Asian market near us. Might have to try it.
ReplyDeleteDuck looks really good! I'm glad to hear he's happy and healthy. I know it's been a long road. You are blessed.
