Packing for a cruise in a carry on!

Organize everything before you pack anything.
Make a list!
Check it twice.
Top photo: cosmetic bag, bathing suit and hat, undies, night clothes, Wen.
Passport! Gum.

This should take less than half the suitcase.

Lay all clothing flat on top of each other and carefully roll.
Read that again: carefully ROLL it all in one bunch.
This way there will be very few wrinkles.
Clothing: white dress jeans, turquoise dress jeans, black dress, pink dress, navy shorts, pink shorts, purple top, two black tops, two white tops, pink top, pink belt, gold belt.

That pink bag in the lower left is my Joy Mangno travel steamer.

Lid: two small purses and pink shoes, turquoise shoes.
I will wear black shoes, pink jeans, white top.
Jewelry is in pink purse.

I don't even need anything else besides a purse for my iPad and iPhone and passport.
Chargers will be put in outside pocket at last minute.

If I am going on a longer cruise I do it a bit differently.  I chose three colors like black, white, and tan for example and only take one pair of shoes and one bag and that leaves room for a few more clothes.  You can wear bottoms several times and just take more tops.  The cabins have terry robes so you don't need those, they also have hair dryers.  For years I schlepped stuff that I didn't wear.  No more.  I finally got smart.  I don't even check the bag, I keep it with me.  I am unpacked before muster drill and ready to party!  Beetini anyone?  Yes please!  And we're off and running...

  2. Daughter taught me the roll up thing. And it works. Sometimes we only roll one or two things together but it works.
    Have a great time !

  4. I like the idea of rollong the clothes all together. I have rolled individual items but not all of them together -will try it next time. You are ready, have a great time!

  5. Yup. That's how I do it! I did a carry on for 9 days and still had clothes I did not wear. Light, quick, easy peasy and off we go, Precious! Have a BLAST! Can't wait to see the photographoc evidence!

  9. You pack like I do. My wardrobe (pants, jeans, skirts, and sweaters) contains four basic colors -- navy (denim), gray, khaki, and black. Then accessory items like tanks and tees are in the colors (solids or prints). I confess that most are black, white and khaki with an occasional blue pink or purple thrown in.
