Guess what? I got invited to a Super Bowl party and I went. I actually watched some of it too. Didn't like it, saw part of halftime, and excused myself (with thanks) and went home. I dislike sports. I don't want to, I just do. I actually wish I liked them.
Anyway while I was there, remember I told you my friend was a SAG member and got all the movies sent to him? Well this time I brought home three more, Captain Phillips, Blue Jasmine, and Dallas Buyers Club. I'll watch them soon.
Today I have fasting bloodwork and then I am free. It's in the 80's and sunny so you know where I'll be for sure. I am reading an interesting book too so I'll take that down with me. What I am reading is "Divergent".
I have about given up on Downton Abbey this season, it just is not interesting me. Am I the only one?
And that, my friends, it about it from paradise today. Hope your Monday is totally tits. Mine will be for sure! Well all except for that needle in the morning...
I really want to see Dallas Buyers Club, I saw a great review about it recently.
ReplyDeleteMost Super Bowl parties are more about the friendships than the game. Glad you went, don't blame you for going home at halftime. Enjoy the movies, after your swim of course.
ReplyDeleteI tuned out of the Super Bowl and watched Downton. It is not as good but still better than the stupid bowl.
ReplyDeleteI had a house full of teenaged boys and they ate a million calories!
In the 80s? Yes I know where you will be. We didn't watch the game and we aren't into sports either. I used to be, but just don't care anymore.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous day honey. Big hugs to you and my very best to Roche. ♥♥♥
Second Effort on this comment (say, that's a catchy title....) Even if you were a sports fan, you didn't miss anything by bailing out of the second half last night. Except for the commercials, of course. I've seen all or most of all 48 Super Bowls now and this one ranks among the worst... unless you happen to be a Seattle fan, I suppose. Enjoy the warm weather. It was -4 this morning at O'Hare, closer to -20 by where my Youngest Son goes to school. It will warm up some today because it will snow tomorrow. Another six inches or so. Then it will get cold again -- only to warm up for the weekend... when it will snow some more. They're not saying how much for the weekend; they're just saying it will be "significant." I'd like to burrow away for the next six weeks; the Groundhog is lucky.
ReplyDeleteI read Divergent over Christmas. Good, not great. Eventually I'll read the rest of the books.
ReplyDeleteYou know I whipped through Divergent in 6 hours. I finished Insurgent in two days (had too much to do to devote uninterupted time to it) and I just started Allegient today. I am enjoying them very much. Hope the movie can live up to the hype.
ReplyDeleteI love sports and follow football closely. That had to be one of the worst Super Bowl games I have seen. Loved the Clydesdale/puppy commercial so much. I will stick with Downton Abbey. Leaving Saturday morning for Ft. Lauderdale to spend the night before cruising on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI am more interested in half time than football. Didn't care who won either. We watched on our patio, just we two and that was fine.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
Didn't watch it. Didn't care. It was crazy nuts here in the Seattle area afterward. I pulled up the police scanner web page and listened to the mess in the city afterward. And a mess it was.
ReplyDeleteI unfortunately read a summary of Downton's season 4 so I know what happens (sort of). I'm hanging in there. I am getting a huge kick out of the banter between Isobel and Violet. Those two crack me up!
