Bee Bandwagon unstuffed cabbage rolls

Remember I told you I saw this recipe somewhere on the internet and thought it was a good idea and that I could make it much lower in calories than the one shown.  Well here it is.

1 lb. ground turkey breast
1 sweet onion
Saute until done.

Add:
1 chopped small head of cabbage
1 can tomato sauce
1/2 c uncooked rice
1 can water
Any seasonings you want, I used:
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 shakes Tabasco
You could use garlic, Italian seasoning, whatever you think.

Simmer about an hour.

Done!

It was really good too!

So yesterday I did all the sheets and towels and got everything put away before I did over an hour in the pool.  It was sunny and hot and it was lovely.  I just love my life, I really do.

Tonight is poker, hope I do good like last week.  Have a great day in your world and I will too...

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs, and a big hello to Roche. :)

  4. Well, that is really good news --- Daughter going home!!!!
Your recipe looks great...wish I could eat it, but the cabbage would do me a slow death (and most likely, those in close proximity as well).

  9. Hi Bee!
This dish really looks great. It is almost identical to a dish my mom often made, when she didn't want the work of actual cabbage rolls. For spices, she used garlic and chile powder, and it was great. don't have to use too much chile poweder, just a couple teaspoons really boosts the flavor, without making it spicy like chile. I make this dish using V8 instead of the tomato sauce, as the V8 has the deeper flavor. My hubby likes more chile powder in it, and I cook it very well so the cabbage is totally soft. Much easier on the digestive system LOL. Sometimes i use Minute Rice instead of raw rice, tastes great too. Love your recipes!
