So okay in case you are not facebook friend with the duck here is what happened at the docs yesterday:

Ok, good news and bad news from the doctor. Tendon in the knee is only sprained and not torn, so no surgery.......at this time.
We then had this conversation:
Doc: Have you ever abuse steroids in your life?
Me: Ummmmmmmmmmmmm no, do I look like a body builder?
Doc: Well that means you're an alcoholic.
Me: That is a bold statement, what makes you say that?
Doc: Because your knee says you are.
Me: Well I am, been sober for four and a half years.
Doc: Congratulations, but you also have long term damage to your bones from it.
Me: Among other things I would say.
Doc: You have Aseptic Necrosis.
Me: Sounds like some kind of VD.
Doc: I'm not that kind of doctor.
He went on to tell me that I can lose the crutches but keep the knee brace and come back in 6 months for a VD check up, I think I like this guy.
So, good and bad news as he said.  I want to hear what Dr. Wacks has to say about it too.  He also has to do physical therapy for the six months.

And that's about all I know about that.  For now.

Today I shall swim and start packing, ready to leave on Monday.  We had lots of storms yesterday, hope today doesn't bring more of them.  I was in the ladies card room during all the storms yesterday and when I was ready to leave the sun came out for my walk home.  How lovely.  Have a great day!  I will too.

  2. I like that doctor too. More good news than bad though. No surgery made it more good than bad. Physical therapy will help a great deal.

Have fun at the pool and get that packing done. That shouldn't take long since you're a pro at packing.

Have a fabulous day honey. Big hugs from HOT California. ☺

I have been reading back and ... You are hilarious! I did comment using this phone. but it didn't post. It was a good, long comment, too! Oh well. I love reading what you have to say
Interesting exchange between the doc and the duck. In spite of what the alcohol did...I am proud that he has stayed sober for so long. It's a story for me to share
I have my tickets to visit Mom. I will be there until the 10th.
    Love

  6. Glad to hear this is something that will heal and without surgery, As for the necrosis, I hope it doesn't become an issue.

The sun just knew you were heading out, so it made an appearance. Enjoy the pool today!

  7. Bee, Six months is a long time for physical therapy. Your other dr. may have more to say about that. I hope it's not all that bad. We never stop worrying about our children...no matter how old they get. Enjoy your weekend. xoxo,Susie

  8. Here I come hanging my head in shame because it's been so long since I posted. Chuck looks great and I am sure he will overcome the problems with his knee. You both are such an inspiration to so many people. Have a great time in Podunk!

    Hugs,

  9. I'm happy Chuck won't have surgery. Hopefully Dr. Wack can assist him more with Aseptic Necrosis.
I golfed today. There were storms all around us golfing but the siren didn't go off until we were coming down the 18th hole. We just got home and this storm exploded with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. MaryLou was in Windsor having her hair done and was in the storm at the time.
Mom isn't during well. Her dementia is getting worse and she isn't eating well. I'm getting worried.
Have a great time on your visit to Podunk. See you my beautiful friend.
