Two weeks and counting...

I won pretty good at canasta yesterday, I have been on such a roll this week I should seriously buy a lottery ticket or go to the casino.  But I won't.  I never do.  In fact I consider myself a lottery winner with all the money I have saved not buying tickets.  They call them redneck retirement plans.

The money was supposed to go to education in Florida since it was established back in the early 80's.  Technically it does but they cut the budget at the same time so the schools did not benefit like the voters thought they would when they voted to have the lottery in the first place.  Georgia does use the profits for education and if I still lived there I would participate to help but not here.

I don't know what made me go off on the Florida lottery, maybe the fish oil is kicking in again.  It's been pretty quiet lately hasn't it?  I seem to be flitting from one thought to another.

I finished off the rest of the kale yesterday adding white beans and making soup.  It was really good and super healthy.

So I am off today and going to the pool and the fruit stand for sure.  I need veggies and fruit and it seems to be so much better there than the supermarket.  I have no idea why either.  They just do.  And the fact that they are cheaper there too is even better.

Have a wonderful Friday y'all.  I know I will...

  1. Oh, I can not wait to have that view! I've got 118 days. bugger!

I've been perusing recipes for kale and sausage soups. I'll narrow it down before tomorrow so I can make sure I have all the ingredients. I am loving having hearty, healthy soups in my freezer, ready to microwave! I'm also planning to make a squash soup this weekend.

My friend Tammy's daughter attended FSU thanks to the Bright Futures Scholarship program, funded by the Florida Lottery. If any kid deserved a scholarship, this kid did! Smart gal.

Have yourself a perfectly lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  2. I do the lottery every week, well you have to be in it to win it don't you? Camelot, who run the lottery here, do contribute a lot, especially to sport, which is intended to get kids involved because obesity is a growing (pardon the pun) problem.

  3. Bee, I hope your day is pleasant. Nice quiet times are enjoyable too. Our lottery was to help education and fix roads...what a joke. Are you packing yet? xoxo,Susie

  4. Not much to say today my wonderful friend. I might have a little more to say tomorrow Bee. See ya.

  5. Way to go on your winning streak.

I think Julia Sandstone is about to have babies. I'm pretty sure of it. Should know in the next few days. It's so exciting.

I agree about the fruit stands too. It's just way better and cost a lot less. Not all those middlemen and women I'd guess.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from sunny and warm California. ☺

  6. That photo really makes me want to go on a cruise right now and get away from the news!

  7. That white bean and kale soup sounds wonderful. Two weeks will fly by and soon you'll be on a balcony watching the water go by. I love our local fruit stand. The lady who owns it is very nice, as are her staff. And the quality is outstanding!Plus, you get a lot for your money!

  8. have another lovely day.
The two weeks will just fly by.
I swear just yesterday it was Monday and now it is Friday already !

    cheers, parsnip

  9. The supermarket stuff most likely is a lot older. And so that it can stay looking okay it is sprayed, soaked and hosed down with all sorts of preserving agents. Kale is the best! Love that you love it!

  10. That view!!!

    Did you say something???

    Big hugs, honey...

you know i love comments, don't be shy! and if you are a spammer that got through, buggers to you. get a life somewhere else!
