Yesterday was a much nicer day, still cool but not awful.  I was up and out early for my blood work for Friday's dr. appt. and then off to have my taxes done.  If you remember last year H&R Block tried to charge me over eight hundred dollars for a return that Sarge had almost completed before he died so I wasn't going back there for sure.  I don't know if they have this where you live but here the United Way does taxes free so I make an appointment and went there.  They are done and mailed (check included).  I could not file electronically because I had to include a death certificate with the return.

Anyway then I came home and saw an email from Sandy and we had lunch!  How nice was that for a lovely surprise?  Dick came too.  It was a very nice visit and I got to get one more box out of my closet, this time for Joy!

Today is canasta and poker.  Hope my lucky streak continues.  I like to play either way but winning is way more fun.  But today's canasta game is the one with the gal with the very bad memory and it's really hard to play with her.  Some days she is not too bad but other days?  Oy.

So that's it from my world.  Hope you have a lovely day.  It's warming up nicely here so I know I will!

  3. FREE tax returns preparations? If only I didn't need my CPA. My CPA doesn't charge me quite what HRB was going to TRY to charge you, but still. Darn the luck!

I actually had a wonderful day yesterday and I feel a little bit guilty asking for me of the same... but I want more of the same! LOL!

I hope her memory is good today (for everyone's sakes) and that you enjoy your game. big hugs xoxo

  5. Mine are done and filed, too. We have a "tax guy" we trust very much. So he does alot of it for us, I just gather the receipts and prepare the business spread sheet for profit/loss.

Can't wait for the return, I am working on upgrading camera gear and that money would help very much indeedy.

Hope your card game is a good one, and the lady has a good day. I finally have my appointment with the lawyer today to begin the probate process on Gram's will and hopefully evict the druggie squatters from her house. I need action and closure, I cannot carry this stress anymore. Its dreadful!!!!

  7. Hi Bee. The sun is bright and warm 39 degrees. Today is my open day to play pool with my friend Gerry. I'm making wings for dinner and then just resting because the rest of the week, well it is crazy. I guess that makes me crazy. I got my Visa bill for my ring that I bought on the Breeze. I'm not sure that I told you about that. I bought a diamond ring and it cost me $2000. I guess I went nuts that day but MaryLou OK'd it. I was surprised when she said OK to me. Now I've bought a ring on St. Maarten and now one on the Breeze. No more rings for me. Crazy me. See you my wonderful friend in hot Florida.

  10. I wish I could have come for lunch too. That would have been grand. Oh well I love way on the other side of the U.S. and that is that.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from sunny California. ☺

  11. $800? Makes my CPA look cheap... And those folks aren't real pros... seriously? NO wonder Mr. Block is so wealthy!

  12. Ours is too complicated for Hubs to do, thus we have always had an accountant/CPA prepare them.

Our weather is getting nicer and nicer, but this wind is about to blow us away. Planting day lilies this week.
