There is still too much krap on my shelves but it's all stuff I like so I have a dilemma. Maybe I can just neaten it up a bit more and keep my krap. Or maybe put some of it in the closet and change it out several times a year. Something like that. I don't like the jumbled up look it has now but everything there means something to me.
Oh, I almost forgot! I won big at poker last night! Really big! There is no MahJong today so I might have to go spend some of it! I hit another big hand too, where everybody had to pay me three dollars, it was a straight flush.
I think a trip to Bed Bath and Beyond might be in order. I'm thinking maybe some pink dishes!
The new MahJong card came and I want to play with it so bad but no game, rats. It looks like a great card too, I like lots of the hands this year.
Have a wonderful Wednesday and if you have your Prince Spaghetti, enjoy it. I won't be indulging though. I had pizza last night.
whoo-hoo! A trip to Bed Bath & Beyond is an excellent way to handle your winnings:)
ReplyDeleteI liked your idea of cleaning the shelves up by rotating the things on them - having some things out and some stored.
((HUGS))
All days are prince spaghetti days as far as I am concerned.
ReplyDeleteJon
Decorators say that you should move thing around because if you keep them in the same place you get use to them and stop really seeing them.
ReplyDeleteSo maybe rotating them might be a good idea. Or just start with the items that you must have and put some things in a box and see what happens.
I have some items I love, special pieces that were my Mothers, on some open shelves in my walk in closet I get to look at them every day. Makes me happy.
cheers, parsnip
I have/had so many things (two grandmothers, aunt, mom) and decisions of what to keep and what not to are really difficult. Not only is there sentimental value, but in
ReplyDeleteI have one suggestion... You could take some/most/all of your special photos that are currently in different frames, which is the greater part of what's currently on the shelves, and have them professionally scanned onto a CD. Then load them all onto one of those wonderful digital frames that play your photos as a slideshow. That's my plan... for one of these days. =)
ReplyDeleteYAY on the big win! And having fun.
Have yourself a YAYful day, my friend! big hugs xoxo
I'm not going to give you de-cluttering advice, I am not qualified for that! But I know you'll figure it out. Enjoy your shopping!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on winning Bee. As far as that shelve, take everything off the shelve, look at what you have and place it in a different way.Maybe have the flag at the top with some photos of Charlie and the place the rest in an other order. Looking at it I really like what you have on the shelves. Just do it in an other order.
ReplyDeleteYes my lovely friend, go to the Bed Bath and Beyond. You deserve it.
See you.
Paul
I love the shelf! But have you considered a digital photo frame? It would allow you to remove the pictures and store them safely. And the frame would continiually scroll through those and any others you add. Each time you glance at it, would be a new picture and memory to enjoy. Or you could do a large collage frame that includes all the pictures?
ReplyDeleteI love kitsche, especially sentimental type. I say if you like it, leave it be.
I like the shelves. I think it everything there means something, why not keep it out where you can see it every day.
ReplyDeleteLet's review the shelves: 1. you don't have to dust them, so don't worry. 2. you want to look at and see the picture you want, not wait for it to appear on a digital frame. 3. everything has deep meaning for you. 4. this is the only area you have in your house for sentimental "krap" and lastly 5. you are a big girl now and you can have anything you want sitting out wherever you want it! I'd keep it just the way it is!!!
ReplyDeleteBee, I know exactly what you mean when you say those things mean something to you. I would pack some and trade off thru the year. Or paint all the frames the same color to unify them. I know your photo of Sarge and those flags mean so much...leave them where you can enjoy them always. But then if this is your only spot of "stuff" no need to even worry. Good going on your big poker win. xoxoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteWe're going to head to Bed, Bath & Beyond too. After retiling our downstairs bathroom it's time to pretty it us with a rug, towels and other neat items. Going to do that next week.
ReplyDeleteWay to go on the poker win. That's awesome.
Have a terrific day. Big hugs from sunny and warm California. ☺
You'll figure what will make you happy with those shelves. That is ll that is important. Srsly. And BB&B will be a fun shopping trip.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day. Big hugs, honey..,
Ciao!!!
