Friday stuff and other stuff...

My orchid is blooming again!  This one came to me from someone dear to me in California and the pink blooms are not real, Daniel and Jane put that in my orchid plant for me but then - - - the white blooms came back again!  There are two so far.

Well guess what happened to me yesterday?  I was in the Grille Room at the club before canasta and as I was leaving I passed by a friend's table and I heard her say to her lunchmates "look at her, she looks gorgeous, and she used to be HUGE!"  Big emphasis on the huge part too.  I didn't act like I heard her but then when I thought about it I couldn't decide whether to be happy or sad.  I still don't.  Maybe some of both.

Today I am subbing in a game and I like the gals so it'll be fun.  I don't want a full time Friday game though because as we all know that is my day off.

Oh, another thing, I just found out yesterday that Comcast has a free week of everything, of course it's half over already but I am loving watching the "Homeland" series on Showtime.  I am already half through season one.  It's really good but has some nudity.  I close my eyes at those parts because I don't want to go blind.

Have a great Friday y'all.  I will too...

  1. Oh Bee you are so funny.
I have been wanting to watch Homeland too but just seem to not find the time.
As for the lady (?) with the big mouth, I have to tell you that is pure jealously speaking.

    cheers, parsnip

I don't have Showtime. Or HBO. Or... There's already too much TV and too little time. bugger.

Well, my dear, that was a NSV! Take it and bask in your success at achieving your not easily attained goal! My muscles are revolting this morning... but I shall still meet Darrell at 7am and give them more to scream about! Yes, indeedy!

Have a fun day off. big hugs xoxo

  3. Be happy! She meant it as a compliment, surely! At least that is what I would choose to believe.

You're doing what's right for you, no one can take that joy of success from you.

    Happy Easter, dear Empress! <3

  4. Bee, People still loved you when you were heavier...but it's nice to hear them say "she's gorgeous now". I know huge sounds so awful. But think about this...you are thinner, healthier, and you can walk so much more, now. So take a bow beautiful lady...you are a winner. Love your flowers. Have fun today. xoxo,Susie

  6. I think you should be happy, because she said you look gorgeous. If she hadn't said that then I would have been unhappy. She was giving you a great compliment. You are gorgeous. So there.

Have a terrific day honey and a happy Easter too. Big hugs from sunny California. ☺

  7. I have heard and read so much rudeness lately, it makes me sad. Doesn't anyone think before speaking anymore? Well of course some do, probably even most. It is the unthinking one that we hear or see (read) though and we need to shake it off.

  11. Glad that the white parts of the orchid are blooming again - that always is a good sign that the plant feels loved and happy where it is.

The comment is one of those comments where it is a compliment and a tactless one, because why not just say how great you look and leave it at that? Some people just don't know how to be nice in what they say, and don't think about how the whole thing might be taken.

    ((hugs)) and happy easter!

  14. Maybe I should put some silk orchid blooms in my two orchids that are sitting on my piano doing nothing! One did re bloom once but that was a while ago. I have a black thumb with indoor plants. But that white bloom is lovely. I think you overheard what my mother called a "left-handed compliment." Just pull out the compliment part -for you DO look fabulous - and discard the rest. You were always beautiful and you still are.
