The Emerald Princess... Grenada

Loved this sign...

Yes we have the bananas.

And the chocolate beans, nutmeg, cinnamon, and tumeric.

Beautiful harbor.

Our ship on the left and the AIDAluna on the right.

So how was Grenada you ask? I'm so happy you did. I do not recommend EVER getting off the ship here. As in ever. We got heisted a hundred bucks for a 30 minute cab ride that took the curves on two wheels on the mountain roads. And before you think well it's just that one cab, think again. Why cruise ships stop here is beyond me and if I ever come here again I shall stay on board and swim instead.

Last night I got sick. Violently sick. Extremely violently sick. It was not Noro Virus beause I am fine today, woke up feeling wonderful. I suggested to Guest Services that perhaps I had food poisioning (which there is NO DOUBT I did). I was told that there was no problem on the ship, something I ate must not have"agreed" with me. Uh huh... We also heard the guy in the next cabin being sick as well.

A completely bad attitude. I told them I did not want anything, no compensation, just an acknowledgement that there was a problem. No, it was my problem. Princess, Carnival would not have handled it that way. No they would not have.

I wrote a letter to the hotel manager and dropped it off. We'll see if they step up to the plate of not. If not, buh bye Princess for me.

I have a comparison chart that I will share with you after I get back. Some things Princess does very well, some things, not so much.

So now it's time for me to go to the spa and swim. Back later...

  2. Sorry you were sick. Hubby and I were very sick when we got off the Hawaii cruise. Very sick and it lasted for several months for me. Anyway, I'm waiting to see the differences. Very much so.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  3. Sorry to hear about your bad Grenada experience and that you were so ill in the night. Relieved you felt fine in the morning, so you can enjoy yourself on the rest of the cruise. Take care of yourself.

  5. So so sorry you were sick, that is no fun at all. I am looking forward to your comparison because I don't think I have ever heard you say something negative about a cruise. Glad you are feeling better. As always, thanks for taking us with you.

  7. PS- that means that your calories are in the negative, so you can eat more the rest of the trip.

  8. Bee, So sorry to hear about your sickness. I would absolutely say food poisoning too. Doesn't take much of one nasty little something. Keep your hand sanitizer near too. Wishing you well. xo, Susie

  9. LOL @ Ayla!

I'm quite interested in your comparisons as well. Although I'm quite pleased with Carnival and feel no need to jump ship. Literally.

So glad your sick was brief with no lingering effects.

    big hugs xoxo

  10. I'm sorry you were sick. That is not fun. I've been there. Hugs. Pox on the cab driver. I'm a cynic about the Caribbean. To me all ports are the same -- just shopping and drinking. Not my style.

    Glad you're better today.

  12. Ditto what Ayla said, I was thinking the same thing. No worries on the cupcakes now!!

Really stinks though that something wasn't right. Hope it doesn't happen again or ruin your trip.

  15. Bee, I'm so sorry you were sick! I confess I like Princess for their safe and excellent excursions. It would never dawn on me to get into a car with someone I didn't know in a strange country; I'm not as adventuresome as you! I liked Grenada because I like to cook, so I appreciated the good prices on spices, especially good cinnamon and saffron. I once had a problem with noise on a balcony cabin on Princess. I wrote to them when I got home and got half off our next cruise. I'm thinking that would not make you happy haha.
