There are no sofas yet and lots of arranging to do but the guys are gone. Larry Mo and Curley finished up yesterday. They did an outstanding job and were just as pleasant as could be all week long. I gave them some jewelry for their wives for Christmas and made them coffee and treats every day. I thought they would make such a mess sawing and sanding and painting but they cleaned up behind themselves every day. They they had me tell them where to put everything and they did the plugs and stuff for me too.
Next up, oh my, now I see the dreaded fruitcake is an ice cream flavor. The only person on earth I ever knew that liked fruitcake was Sarge, yup, the old Claxton fruitcake from Claxton Georgia. He liked one slice a year. I'll never be able to look at one without thinking of him. But an ice cream flavor???
So what am I doing today? Not much. After I put all the stuff away that I had in closets and places where they would not get broken or be in the way and several loads of laundry, well I plan to go sit at the pool after that. Hopefully it will be warm enough to swim.
i wish i was going to sit at the pool with you. i have class all day tomorrow. bummer.
ReplyDeleteIt's coming together nicely! I wish I were sitting by the pool with you, too. srsly.
ReplyDeletebig hugs xoxo
Have a lovely Saturday, Bee
ReplyDeleteLooks mighty good! Sitting by the pool would be sooo nice, but not today. Bugger.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
Oh, it's going to be SO pretty! Every picture.looks better than the last one. Hope you do get to swim, and that you have a wonderful day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteObviously I've not been around for awhile so I missed the beginning of your changes but things are looking quite lovely!
ReplyDeleteI've never been a fruitcake fan myself - nor known anyone else who was either - but people keep making 'em so someone has to like them, right?
Enjoy the pool, I'd love to have a nice relaxing day myself but alas, I need to get off of this computer and start cleaning as I've got company coming over in 7 short hours for our annual Christmas party with the folks I work with. Good food and good times - plus a good reason to clean!
I *love* fruitcake. does that make me weird? Umm... cancel that. LOL! I love the color and the chandelier! That is just adorable. Doesn't the room feel larger?
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely honey. You're so going to love the new girly look. I sure do. Pink and green are two of my very favorite colors.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's warm enough for you to make the pool. It's freezing here. Ice on the rooftops to prove it too.
Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs from California. :)
I love fruit cake.... yep ! me and Sarge !
ReplyDeleteThat said I don't love all fruit cake. I like the ones made in the UK or the Italian Panettone sliced thin and toasted with a cup of coffee !
Your house is looking Fabulous !
cheers, parsnip
I haven't had fruit cake in years. But the piece I had was yummy, not too heavy or too sweet. My grandma made it, and she was a wonderful baker.
ReplyDeleteGlad the guys were so neat, and you treated them great. that was really kind of you, Bee. Bet their wives love the jewelry too!
Hope the pool was warm and you had a good swim.
Hugs
