All is well in paradise...

Yesterday was really something!  You know I had errands, many errands.  I cannot believe how smoothly everything went either.  First I had to re-register the car.  It was only in Sarge's name so it was involved with title, tags, all of it.  Plus he had disabled vet plates so it was more involved than usual.  Anyway I went online to see where to go and it told me.

I went and as I was going in the door a man ahead of me held the door for me.  Nice.  I stepped aside inside to let him go in front of me.  (I really hate it when you hold the door for someone and then they jump in front of you in line!)

When I got inside it was mobbed.  I mean mobbed with a capital M.  Well it turns out I was in the drivers licence place (thanks online info).  I got directions on where to go next, the Tax Collector's Office so off I went.  There was no one there but me and a row of people ready to help me!  I got it all done, even ordered license plates that say EMP BEE.  (Didn't you know I would?)

Next up the post office.  Again, no line at all!  Got the box of clothing mailed and next off to the car wash, no one in line there either!  I'm seriously on a roll here.  The fruit stand was next on my list and I got wonderful peaches and black plums, lots of veggies too.  No problems there either.

When I got home it was lunchtime and I was hungry.  I checked the temperature, 70, too cold to swim again.  Rats.  But I had walked a lot already so at least I got exercise.

So I cooked some more stuff.  Green beans with potatoes in one pot with a bit of chicken broth and pepper, tiny bit of salt.  They were delicious!  I cooked them about an hour and a half.  I know, I know, y'all cook them eight minutes but remember I'm southern and we cook our beans.  But give me some credit here, I didn't use any ham hocks!

So that was my day, how was yours?

  1. We woke up on the boat and had a leisurly morning. Around 12:30 we headed home by way of Oakdale as hubby wanted to pick up dues from the treasurers office. Then we came home. We checked the messages and hubbies new laptop was ready for pickup so we did that. Well you get the idea. Pretty boring.

I'm glad that your day went so well and I'm not surprised that your new license plate says EMP BEE. Why not. I love it when your errands go so very well.

Have a terrific day honey and I hope you get to the pool soon. Big hugs. :)

  2. I'm way too cheap to pay for vanity plates, although I once came thisclose to ordering yellow lab plates. They were about $60 more than regular ones. Hmmm... nope.

My day was too dull to speak of, although I did have a few orders, which always perks me up pretty good.

Today is ride Elvira. It's warm and sunny. Then back to another episode or two of Parenthood, which I am really enjoying. OK. I was blubbering like they were actually all related to me by the end of the first season finale. sheesh.

Have an errand free, perfectly lovely day! big hugs xoxo

  3. That's a perfect plate for you!

I worked an extraordinarily long day yesterday. The whole week was like that and next week doesn't look much better. Oh, well. That means extra presents under the tree, starting with my iPhone 5, a gift I'll give myself with all my loot.

  5. Bee, I used to call ham hocks..pig ankles. I have never cooked with them ...too gross for me. Funny, as I have eaten bacon and ham. Glad you got some nice veggies and fruit. You truly lucked out after the first stop of the day:):):)Bee, there was a bit of snow flakes and some sleet, just about 1/2 hour ago...eewwweee, hate it, even though it's just melting. Be happy sweet girl in Florida.

  10. What a fun vanity plate, good for you. Love your flowers also. I had a wonderful day at the Razorback game. It was perfect weather, the fall colors were awesome on the drive there and back and I got to spend the day with three of my favorite kids, even if Geoff the OU fan wouldn't call the Hogs.

    Big Hugs,

    Bobbi

  11. Those flowers are beautiful...glad you had the no-line luck. That doesn't usually happen.

Busy day here--Joy's jewelry party; sorority Yankee trader party, then home. I'm ready to kick back now. Day is over.

    Big hugs, honey...
