The Carnival Valor, last day, Nassau part deux

I was anxious to see the all new straw market since the tent one burned. Total waste of time, it's exactly the same thing, just not in a tent. A pickpocket's dream, hot, narrow aisles, hot, full of knock off junk, hot, and did I mention hot?

See? Just as I told you. And did I mention it was hot in there?

Ladies, a mini skirt? Really? Panties were showing. It was not pretty. Oh, and it was hot.

I was so glad to get back on board. I know I say this every time but I will NEVER go ashore in Nassau again. I really really mean it this time.

The end.

  1. We only go ashore in Nassau if we are with someone who has never been there and we need to 'guide' them. I go to the end of the walkway to pick up free wi-fi, take a few photos, and get back onboard the ship. You are soo right about the straw market.

Sending hawt hugs from Podunk, honey...

  2. Nassau in my mind seems to be beautiful. When I was growing up in the 50's or 60's it was the beautiful Caribbean and Nassau was the place, see what I know ?

  4. I actually want to go back there but stay at the Atlantis Resort! We did the Glass Bottom Boat while there. When we went it was the bulding you show, not the tent thingy. It was not the best but we did buy a few things to take back home. We were actually there on the 4th of July when we went.

  6. That's a big bummer. And I wasn't referring to the rather large woman in the mini-skirt. Or maybe I was...
All in all, I'm so glad your trip was a good one!

  9. I agree Bee. If I go again, and I will because Nassau is our final port in January, I plan on staying on the ship. It just wasn't the port I expected it would be. Messy, messy, messy.

I so glad that you enjoyed your cruise, but you always enjoy any cruise you go on. I'm like you, just to be on a ship in the Caribbean is great.

See you at home my lovely friend.

  10. There is a little restaurant we used to visit when we hit Nassau. It is over by the yacht club- called The Poop Deck. Has good conch. But it's been over ten years since we've eaten there. Not sure if it's still around. A local told me about it.

  11. I know you do not like Nassau. I'm pretty sure you'll never get off the ship there again. Pretty sure.

Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. :)

  13. Bee, It's really sad, when you take a nice trip, and all the ports are nasty tourist traps. I think of some of the things we paid to see in those islands...not worth it, other than to say you've been there. It's not safe to get off the beaten path either. Did you hear anyone say"almost free" ?? Oh by the way some of their stuff is from china or some asian place. Sad. Come home girl. xoxo, Susie

  14. My least favorite port as well. If they did not have the Atlantis, there would be no port stop :)
Hope you made it home safe!
    Hugs from stormy Ohio,
    I.

  15. I'm not a fan of heat myself Bee, unless I'm sitting under a big umbrella with a frosty cold drink with lots of ice cubes nearby as well!
Some places are better than others to stop. Obviously Nassau is crossed of the list!

    ((hugs))
