Thursday stuff and other stuff...

Well May is over tonight and June is upon us tomorrow.  Summer is my favorite time of year with the long lazy days, the pool, the blue skies, not too many people around.  This will be my first summer alone.  Ever.  I'm not quite sure I'll love it as much as before but I'm hoping I will.  I might take another cruise too.  Why not, right?

The political ads are running nonstop now.  I am so sick of them I cannot tell you.  In fact I think most people feel that way.  They start so early and by the time the election is closer it heats up and the lies just go on and on.  I am to the point that I don't believe anything from them.  You know, how do you tell if a politician is lying?  His lips are moving.  Yeah, that.  I've gotten pretty good at changing the channel really fast when I see one headed my way.

Today is lunch with my canasta girls and a nice game.  They have made some menu changes and there are some really good salads.  Chef is really creative and will make adjustments so they are not to fattening for me.  Well for anyone but I'm the one that always asks.

And that my friends is all I know today.  Hope your Thursday is totally tits.  Mine too...

  3. Is that saying just for politicians? Because that's what I've always told people about Al. For decades now. Except Al's lies don't cost the country or its citizens a thing. Maybe the politicians should take a lesson from Al.

Have lovely day with the gals! big hugs xoxo

  4. It's a beautiful, sunny day outside this morning. What more could one ask for! Now I can find something interesting to do. We have had so much rain this spring, we're waterlogged. Since you live in sunny Florida, you probably see more sun than PA. I love the bougainvillea photo because the petals remind me of the tissue paper flowers we used to make in elementary school.

  5. Bee, you will never be alone as long as I'm bugging you ever day my wonderful friend. A cruise, you know you could be correct. I can't wait until my cruise so that I can see you and give you a big hug. Unfortunately it's until January.
I had to go to my dentist and I have to go back today. I hate when there is pain in my mouth because it causes also more to my head. I guess it has to be.
That was the reason why I didn't comment yesterday.Well I have to now Bee. See you.

  7. We've had almost two weeks of hot dry sunny days but it's raining now. I think that may have been our summer :( Summer is my favourite time of year except when it rains all the time.

Why not go on a cruise, you enjoy them and they make you happy :)

  9. Bee, Time is flying by. My life took wings as soon as I retired. Work time drags by. LOL. I would rather read about what the candidates stand for ...than be bombarded by tv commercials. I would rather they say what they stand for than try to tear the other guy down. I say Cruise every chance you get :):) You go girl. Live your life. xoxo, Susie

  10. I hear you about those political ads and robo calls. So over it!

Hope today is fun. It's rainy here, but that's okay. I've got lots to do inside.

I've been researching a jewelry-making technique -- using resin. Looks really interesting. Bought some components a while back. May give it a try this weekend. Looks interesting. I want to use fabric, thread and beads with it.

  11. Agree wholeheartedly on candidate commercials. You'll get it worse in Florida because you're in what is considered a swing state (oh, my hanging chads!) while my own Illinois is considered Bluer than Blue -- and, therefore, not worth the money.

And we have the highest gas prices in the nation right here in Chicago. If this were the case in Cleveland (in a swing state) the administration would be in a panic... but not here in docile, dependable Chicago.

A friend of mine who is on the ballot in November has already made plans to be out of the country on Election Day -- that's how he's avoiding election commercials. (Of course, my friend is unopposed in his race. Yes, he's a Democrat....)

  12. I'm sick of all the political ads too. We vote next Tuesday, so I'll be there for sure. Then it would be nice not to hear anything for a bit. We all need a break.

Have a fabulous day with the girls honey. Big hugs. :)

  17. Good Thursday evening to you, dear Bee.

Hope June is a lovely warm month. Being alone is never the same as being with Sarge, and yet I still hope there are some good moments for you to enjoy. ((hugs)).

Another cruise sounds like an excellent idea, since you love them. Which child or grandchild will you have join you?

That is very thoughtful of Chef to prepare you the healthy salads. I'm still massively impressed with your 50 pound weight loss. You have been wonderful - ARE wonderful, and all of your efforts are paying off.

Hope you win at Canasta. I used to love playing it and forgot how, but I remember it is endless fun win or lose when you are playing with people you like.

The political stuff is boring and meaningless. If they wanted the voters to care, they wouldn't allow any ads or publicity at all until 60 days before the elections. That's plenty of time for people to make decisions.

    ((hugs again))

My blog has been having captcha problems so it is hard to leave comments. Asked my geek guy to fix it. Again. Sorry for the inconvenience!
