Thursday stuff and other stuff...

So all the excitement is about wrapped up around here, the cruise is over, the apartment is almost finished, now it's time to settle down and finish my bee bandwagon weight loss and keep exercising.  I am stronger than I ever thought I'd be again.  I amazed myself walking on that ship, it's a big ship and I walked all over it all the time.  It's cooling down so swimming is going to be hit and miss but I do plan on walking any days I can't swim.

I'll go to the grocery store soon and try to come up with some new recipes for us to try. If you have any ideas or suggestions I'd love to hear them.  I've been eating cottage cheese and pineapple at night lately.  I get on kicks where I like something and then I get tired of it and go on to something else.  Like Greek yogurt.  I ate that every day for a while and now I don't want it at all.

So I got through the first year okay.  I am told it will be easier now.  Maybe it will but I'll always miss that special guy.  I have had two incidents recently where a man sort of made comments that could be taken as advances but I shut it down right away.  I have no interest in another man.  None.  At.  All.

I guess that's about all I know today y'all.  Hope your Thursday is totally tits.  And mine too...

Some more stuff...

The closeup of the chandelier.
It is pink and green but you really can't tell from the photo.

The dining room table has a spot under the glass where you can put something.

They put this pretty plate there.

So I had a bit of a rough day yesterday, it was the one year anniversary of Sarge's becoming an angel.  I stayed busy all day but my heart wasn't in any of it.  I'll be better tomorrow, ok?

Almost finished...

Living Room

Into the dining area

Sorry about the boxes by the front door.
They are waiting to get mailed.

Near bedroom

Sorry about the pile of stuff on the chair below.
That was my desk when I was little and I did my homework on it.

Dressing area chair

A small bit more to follow but it's mostly done.

Jane is coming back to help me place things, she had done a bit of it while I was gone but we need to do some more.  Just little stuff left.

Do I love it all?  Yes with a capital YES.  There is also a bit more to show you like the bathrooms but I am waiting until we get the pictures hung.

The duck wants to know if there is anywhere in the entire apartment that he can sit down without his d*** falling off.  (his words, not mine)  I'm a very happy girl.

Have a wonderful Tuesday y'all.  I have canasta and poker so I'll be right busy!

Bloggers Cruise 6, a recap

The duck cleans up pretty nicely.

Old "what's his name", I mean Paul!

And yes that's me in the front row.
Don't know how I managed that but I did.

So okay suitcases unpacked and put away, laundry all done, groceries bought, slept 13 hours straight last night, the floor is still rocking.  I had an absolute blast people.  An absolute blast.  I loved the ship, the people, the shows (with one exception, did not like Diva's), the food, the pool, the lanai.  The lido flowed nicely and had some exceptional food items.  The fish tacos are my new favorite food.

But now it is very good to be home.  Today the drapes will be hung and some final touches done.  More photos to follow of that.  The bedroom too, I'll take those photos when those drapes are hung.

I gained 11 pounds but I know most of it is fluid, my ankles are swollen and I'll lose all of it soon.  I did fine without the scooter and was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go.  By the end of the day I will say my hips were hurting pretty bad but two advil fixed that and I slept so good.

But there's no place like home...

Home sweet home...

The drapes are going up today so I'll take another photo then.
Now they are some seriously pink lamps people! ha ha

Did you ever see a pink gingham desk chair?
And lamp shade?  Now you have!
And on that second shelf is a square dog calendar!

You have seen this before I think but I love it so much here it is again.

Last night I was in bed asleep at 5:00.  Did the cruise wear me out?  You bet it did but I wouldn't trade one second of it for sleep.  I was much too busy having fun.

Hope your brand new week is tits, mine too!

Onboard in Nassau...

We had a meeting with John this morning and saw the videos he posted on his blog and/or facebook showing the cruise highlights. And more free drinks, this time at 10:30 in the morning. I was looking for the sand hanitizer a good bit. Yeah you heard that right.

Tonight we are going to the steakhouse for dinner. The last supper so to speak. The time sure went by fast but I loved it all. Tomorrow morning we will be back in Miami and I have not gotten off the ship once. I think that is a record even for me. The ship in port is not crowded and I love it, no lines anywhere.

I have only been in the pool once but I have certainly walked my fair share so I hope I have not gained too much. If I did it WILL come right back off though.

I got an email from Daniel and Jane saying the apartment is almost finished, I am really excited to see it tomorrow.

Have a great day my friends, I sure know i will...

on the way to Nassau... oboy!

Boy howdy yesterday (a sea day) was jam packed with all kinds of activities and I must have walked the length of the ship ten or more times, no kidding. At the end I was almost back to the front of the ship from the comedy club in the far back when I realized I had lost my sail and sign card so I was tired, hot, hip hurting, but I had to go back once again. Nope, gone.

Then I had to go to guest services to report it, cancel it, have a new one made and then back to the cabin. By this time it was 10:30 and I was done, I mean stick a fork in me done.

We don't arrive in Nassau until noon so I plan on sleeping in for the first time this cruise. Well not too late because the group photo is at 9:30 and we have to get our shirts first and then go for that.

I have loved seeing everyone, really loved it but honey these old bones are exhausted. And on top of all that I missed red velvet cupcake day! That's a real pisser. Rats.

Home is going to feel really good my friends, really good!

A day at sea...

This was our view from the balcony when we woke up.

Beautiful view, I was going to spend the day in the pool and on the balcony with my book.

Then this old bucket of bolts parked six feet from us and I had to listen to their old loud generators or come inside.

But, alas, I'm still on a cruise so I shall not complain. Too much. Just to you. But it was a warm sunny day and I spent a good part of it on the lido.

Then we went to the gold, platinum, and diamond guest party before dinner and then a show, a deck party, and the casino. There is no grass growing under my feet. I am wearing out my cabin mates, they nap and still go to bed before me. Wooses.

The casino took my donation pretty happily but I am still up $9.00 for the week so I consider that a win with all the fun I had. Of course there is still a few more days left so we'll see what that brings.

Hope your Friday is as good as mine y'all!

Welcome to Tortola, BVI

Well I had the pool all to myself in Antigua. I got to do my full workout to the music on the big screen and the water was wonderful.

And there were no red velvet cupcakes yet but I did score some red velvet cookies. They had the same taste but they were just not cake. I am hopeful they will have the cupcakes soon.

So my cabin mates went zip lining in Antigua. Not me though. No way, not this one. They loved it though, really loved it.

Still having a great cruise y'all. WYWH...

Welcome to Antigua...

Remember St. Thomas's beautiful harbor?

Well welcome to Antigua...

And instead of uniformed men to take the ship's ropes and tie us (in the duck's words) there was one barefoot Rastafarian trying to catch them and his cousin in a dinghy calling him stupid... such is life from the balcony of a cruise ship.

Have a lovely day, I'll be the one at the pool...

Wednesday is Antigua

Look who I saw, Mary Lou and old what's-his-name, I mean Paul. He's on the Bee bandwagon too and has lost 34 pounds already. I know most of you see him commenting on my blog and now you know who he is. (Y'all.)

Today the duck and my other travel companion are going zip lining. I am not. Big shocker there, right? I figure I'll have the pool pretty much to myself so that's my plan.

And I am still reading the Outlander series and enjoying it very much so I plan to have some quality balcony time.

Still no red velvet cupcakes, maybe today. I check each day until it's the magic one and then my cake fix is complete.

I am up another nine bucks in the casino bringing my grand win to the amazing amount of thirty-nine bucks. It will probably disappear before the end of the cruise but that's okay as long as I don't lose much and get to have the fun.

Guess that's about it for now. Hope everyone is having a lovely week, I certainly am!

St. Thomas

This harbor is the most beautiful I have seen anywhere and these photos do not do it justice. I know many of you have been here and loved it too.

This morning was John's birthday party and we raised quite a lot of money for St. Jude's and Carnival is matching our donation. Quite nice of them.

I am walking so much I can hardly believe it myself. I am having to take advil at bedtime because of my hips though. I did not get in the pool, I started to but it wasn't heated and, well, I just krapped out.

The cruise is still wonderful, all of it. Some of the best crew members I have had the pleasure of meeting. WYWH.

The Carnival Breeze

Formal night photos with John Heald Sunday evening. We took lots of them. Bethany your mom and dad did too and they looked wonderful!

This was taken at the diamond party, this is Captain Vincenzo Alcaras. He was most elegant as all of Carnival captains are but I will say he hung out mostly with some woman who's bazzooms were poking out of their tops. I had no problem, ha ha.

I am still ahead in the casino, I'm sure it won't last but it's fun while it does. Al Earnst was the comedian on board and very funny. I think there is a youtube of him if you want to see it.

Today we will dock in St. Thomas at 7:00AM and be at that lovely harbor with the huge beautiful boats. I am not planning on doing anything but the pool on board while everyone else is off the ship. I have walked so much my hips, knees, back, and just about everything else is hurting so I think the pool is my best bet.

I am really enjoying all the walking though, it's like freedom without that scooter.

Yesterday John Heald gave me a solid gold plastic ship-on-a-stick in front of everyone in honor of Sarge. Very sweet of him.

Have a truly amazing Tuesday y'all. I certainly will too!

Monday stuff and other fun stuff...

Wel yesterday was a really fun filled fully packed day with an ending I'll tell you about soon. It started with breakfast with John and Calvin and then lunch at Guy's Burger Bar (Guy Fieri) and then a photo seminar with Radu, Carnival's senior photographer and then since it was formal night we all dressed and went for photos followed by dinner, a show, a great winning in the casino and then the comedy club.

The shows were all really good and then I noticed the couple sitting in front of me at the comedy club got up and left. I noticed she left her camera in her chair. I thought about what to do and decided I'd leave it to see if she came back for it.

Well she did come back, they both did with drinks. I said to her I noticed the camera in your chair and was going to turn it in if you didn't come back. She turned around and said "I am able to keep up with my OWN camera and do not need your help". Nice lady, very nice.

Then the show was over and I was talking to Dick and Sandy for a few minutes and noticed her camera was still in her chair. Again.

Dick had a brilliant idea. Sandy and I posed and he made a video of us waving to her saying "guess you need help keeping up with your camera after all" and then turned it in. He who laughs last?

So now it's bed for me and a big day tomorrow starting very early. So far so good!

Nassau??? Whatta the hell?

Last night before bed we decided we were going the wrong way (northeast) and then we woke up in Nassau. They say when we called it was a medical emergency but (not to be a conspiracy theorist or anything) why
didn't we just return to Miami when we were closer last night? No, we were headed this way... any news?

The duck saw an ambulance though so there WAS a medical emergency but why here? No idea but you know what? We roll with whatever comes our way. I mean we're on a cruise right? Hope the ill person is okay.

Oh... we're moving again, sea day here we come!

The Carnival Breeze, Embarkation Day

Well embarkation was by far the easiest I have ever seen. We were at the port by 10:30 and in our cabin by 11:00. Very nice cabin and the ship is understated and beautiful but I am so used to the "over the top" decor Joe Farcus always did for Carnival it hardly seems right.

Paul and Mary Lou came to our cabin for a lovely visit and then we went to the Bloggers Welcome party where we met up with lots of friendly folks including Sandy and Dick Bell.

By 9:30 I was done for the day though, I walked by far further than I have walked in many many years but at the end of the day my hips were hurting and I was totally exhausted. The duck and my other travel mate continued the fun without me for a bit.

Oh, and I did well in the casino!

Back tomorrow...
